Meziere stuff is hands down the best! They make amazing flex plates, starters, water pumps, and im sure tons of stuff I dont even know about! That water pump is a work of art inside im sure just like the rest of their products.

Looking forward to hearing/seeing this engine run. A simple tip to align the intake manifold when setting it on a SBF is to use studs in the four corners. I aligns it perfectly, not destroying the China wall, and you can screw them out after you get the rest of the bolts started. Keep bringing the excellent content

Great work, engine looks amazing! Also another trick for getting paint off surfaces is to take a put a thin film of grease on the surface you don’t want painted then after you paint, you can take a rag and just wipe it off, works great and it’s easy.

Be aware of the ARP cam timing bolt kit, that washer will collapse causing the bolt to get loose and shear the cam pin plus barely covers the pin. I had one do it and have had 3 ive had to repair since with the same issue. I believe their design was to be used over Fords oem piece that was on the cam. If i could post a picture i still have the bent washer on my refrigerator magnet to never forget to not use it by itself.

Nice build, those AFR heads and intake are sweet. We put some AFR heads on my buddies old 79 Camaro with a lazy 350. We also did some 9.1 comp pistons and a new cam and a few little odds and ends, but that 350 is a runner now AFR Air Fuel Research: They are extremely underrated, they make quality that performs. 👍

Good to see it coming together. I would get the pointer set while the heads are off will make it easier to adjust the valvetrain after heads are on. Playdough works of course but I recommend a dial indicator. I ran 12.5 to one TRW domed pistons in my 428cj with heads shaved brought it to a compression ratio of 13.3 to 1. Running a Comp cams solid flat tappet camshaft with dual profile long duration that FEs love with .625/.612 lift with .310/.306, dialing in cam with wheel and dial indicator a must. Completed engine looks great, should run and sound great.

I love those colors too. I'm doin my 5.0l 302 in Ford blue and Ford gray. I love the more stock kind of old school look they have together. It's not as flashy as custom paint and color schemes but still a very clean look. Great job!

You are killing me every time you paint something with a rattle can, not the rattle can it's self. But the fact you don't have a trigger for it they are like $5 at harbor freight. Pops rite in the can and makes it so much easier to use... 😂. Love the work and attention your putting in this motor. Hope this one stays together longer.

Love the mallet beating the balancer on, you must want to make sure the thrust bearing is seated correctly you can get one at any auto parts store that have a loan-a-tool program if you don't want to buy one. That's what is called a hammer mechanic. Get the right tool for the job, don't use the bolt to pull it on.

Did you use sealer on the middle 3 studs for the bottom Head bolts? Why didn't you up-grade to Beehive Springs for better Valve control at higher RPM? Glad you fliped the Lifters around. break in 300 miles, dial the Carb in, do 10 to 15 heat cycles. before dyno. Should run Great !!

You can actually get those silicone oil pan gaskets at O'reillys . That's where I got mine from for my 65. They had the cork ones as well for my truck, but I looked up a later model vehicle with the same engine and they had it listed, like mid 90s.

Piston to valve clearance - hyd lifters with no check spring might have pressed the lifter plunger down further giving false reading. Also curious how those hyd lifters handle 7.5k-8k rpm? No valve float? If not, then Howards makes a shift hot lifter.

Because of people like you I decided to take up another project truck. My friend sold me his blown up 1993 crew cab f350 dually diesel with a manual for 150 dollars and it looks like it needs severe engine work because it was ran severely lean earlier in life and burnt some valves and hurt a large amount of the engine. I’m gonna check it out but I might have to replace the 7.3 idi and if I do I’m gonna find a factory turbo one to swap in. I am almost done with my project ranger I did an engine swap on, it’s my new daily. But before I fix the dually, I’m rebuilding my first truck’s transmission because the front pump failed and won’t shift anymore and I miss my f150

Craig what brand is that thermostat housing again? Im building my engine for my 88 hatch right now, waiting on my 331 scat stroker kit to arrive now, the machine shop guy said he needs those pistons in the kit to get the clearances correct, i had no idea about that i thought it just needed a .30 over bore, i bought Trickflows top end kit 170 cc twisted wedge and also bought a new holley systemax upper and lower, but i still have to get a better radiator and also thinking of getting a calibrated MAF for 24 lb injectors i already had that come with the car when i bought it

Got a question. I'm replacing the fuel pump in my Fox and I want to install a fuel pressure sensor so I can diagnose problems with the fuel system easier next time. I can't find anything online so I'll ask here. What do you recommend that I can mount the gauge where my radio used to be? I've been searching for fuel pressure sensors and trying to find a way to connect it to the fuel rail (Currently OEM) but I'm only finding info on sensors that newer vehicles already have, so no luck.

Def wanna use the balancer to center the timing cover / front main seal before clamping down the cover. Also, dampener installers are like $8 at harbor freight, dont ugga dugga the threads out of your crank... Not sure if you misspoke or meant to say to roasted a piston due to "too small of a carb", but definitely not the case. I think you will find the 750 to be sluggish compared to a better sized one. The QFT 680 on my 351 is a lot snappier than a 750DP, and the summit 500cfm even more so. The 500cfm was to test a theory and shut up the keyboard warriors. The 500 did fall off after 6k compared to the other two, no difference between the 680 and the 750 other than the 750 being a bit sluggish and a bog under 2500. Is a good looking engine to be sure and you definitely have the top end to spin it hard.
