I wish there was an Orange Theory studio in Scotland. I'm so envious. Impressed with your journey, great job :D

Andrew - I just discovered you by accident while looking up OT in my area. I Love your videos...your production and content is awesome!!! You must be in the business. Keep up the great work. I need to get current on where you're at....but glad to find you. You're very entertaining and I love your candor. Maybe subsequent videos - you get those little potatoes with 4-legs working out with you too? :)

What a compliment of a comment!! Thank you so much for all of this (made my day!) I am actually "in the business", ha! I make videos in a marketing department out in Seattle, but KZbin is my passion!! "Those little potatoes with 4-legs" HAHA YES! They need to lose weight just as much as I do! Hope you enjoy the other videos and thank you again for watching and leaving me this comment 👊🏼

Glad you are enjoying it and feeling results! I've been going for over a year myself and still enjoy it! I found I lost the most weight when I was doing intermittent fasting periodically, but now I have a young daughter so I don't have that kind of discipline anymore, but I still definitely try to go to OTF to maintain my physical strength and stamina; kids are heavy!

Thanks for watching!! For me, working out has never been something that I actually looked forward to until now! 💪🏼

Hey Andrew, thanks for these videos! I joined OTF three weeks ago and am ALL IN. I have the arm HR monitor instead of the chest strap and have gotten used to using the armband for my non-OTF workouts as well. I've found that the Scosche HR monitor is a lot more accurate than my Fitbit and gives me a better idea of how much I'm pushing myself. I love the feeling of accomplishment and I'm sure you do too. Keep it up, dude!

Thanks for watching!! And yes, the feeling after a class is something I’m becoming addicted to! Especially if I do a early morning class -I feel like a champion all day 🤣🤣

Hey Andrew- love these videos! You're hilarious. Thanks for sharing your journey. I've been doing OT for a year and a few months. It's been life changing! Around here, we call it the OT cult. There are several members in my neighborhood- and it seems every conversation in every social situation always seems to lead back to Orange Theory. ;-) You are looking fantastic!

Hey Andrew, you are awesome for sharing! :) I'm going to look into Orange Theory as well. I've been on a constant fight to lose weight and know there are no short cuts. Can you help me understand the types of exercises you do besides the treadmill; and how is your diet going? Are you eating healthier?
@AndrewColemanSmith6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! I totally relate to your feeling of fighting to lose weight and it being an uphill battle - that's my story too. I will say from experience, this works for me. It works in terms of weight loss yes, but also in terms of making me want to come back! They have the workouts broken up into two parts (mostly) Rower/weight room - typical weight lifting and other body exercises to tone and strengthen and then the treadmills. My diet needs work, but right now I'm interested in going Vegan. I tried it for a week (there is a video up on my channel now about this) and I lost a couple pounds in only a few days. I think that's the way to go, honestly! Thanks again for watching!! 👊🏼

Hey Andrew! I know you got the unlimited monthly version at OTF. But exactly how many times in a week do you take the class? 6days a week..right?
@AndrewColemanSmith6 жыл бұрын
I try to go 4-5 times a week. I would do more, but they recommend two rest days each week for your body to heal (I was told the rest days are JUST as important as the workout days)

Can you explain the calculation that goes into figuring out the personal heart rate zones? I think its based on age and weight. I'm having trouble getting splat points even though I think I'm dying in class.

For sure!! Stay tuned & thanks for watching 💪🏼💪🏼

Signe - You got me thinking about this too. So according to the mayo clinic, there is a pretty straightforward formula. Scroll halfway down the page here: www.mayoclinic.org/healthy-lifestyle/fitness/in-depth/exercise-intensity/art-20046887?pg=2 OTF has simply assigned numbers and colors to it. Here's an article where someone talks zones and the orange zone creating the "afterburn" or excess post-exercise oxygen consumption (EPOC) - which is what OTF is really based on. The more that I learn about OTF, really the more impressed I am. They have really simplified the science for general consumption and have somehow mysteriously tricked me into killing myself on my most hated piece of gym - and I like it. Ugh... wizardry. Andrew - Thank you for your incredibly entertaining videos. Much like you, I have a gym membership at another gym that I don't use. I have found that I will actually GO to OTF - and go RELIGIOUSLY. Your videos resonate with me. I sound like a walking advertisement when people ask me about why I go to OT. Keep it up. You are doing awesome!
@AndrewColemanSmith6 жыл бұрын
Melinda, thank YOU for saying that! I'm having such a fun time making these vids and for you to actually like them, makes my day!! Seriously! (I also feel the same way when people ask me about it - once I start, it's hard for me to get myself to shut up 🤣🤣🤣). See you on Tuesday for a new vid! 💪🏼

Love these videos! I’m enjoying watching your journey and seeing how much FUN you are having. I just started OT. I have trouble with the treadmill portion. I am always in the red zone when running - same as when I run at home or outside. Should I try to get to the orange? I had 32 splat points today - isn’t that too many?
@AndrewColemanSmith6 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for watching! Isn’t OT great?! That’s a ton of Splat points btw 😳 I’m impressed!! 💪🏼
@AndrewColemanSmith6 жыл бұрын
Also, Idk where I heard this, but too much red could be dangerous. Ask your coach (it may even be something wrong with your heart rate monitor). Worth checking out!
@MoMo-qn3je6 жыл бұрын
I’m loving it! And I feel like now I can eat and still lose some weight because the calorie burn is so good. The coaches are great too. I’ve never done any sort of class so I was very nervous to go but one I was there I just dove in. The weights are hardest for me. I talked to the coaches about being in the red zone (usually about 9 min) and they said as long as I felt good I’m ok. Honestly, I feel good so I’m just going to go with it and see where it goes. Maybe it will change? Keep up the videos!!!!

Melissa Ray-Foster the coaches are wonderful! I was nervous too, but I got over that quickly! Thanks for watching and following along! New vids every Tuesday✌🏼

You slept through class? It happens man, don't sweat it but don't do it again! ;) Love the fact that I made your clip of comments, very cool. Ok so yeah suggestions on other videos, maybe your thoughts on 3G vs 60 and even better get in there and do a 90 if your studio offers it. I was super intimidated by it but it wasn't that bad. Have you tried different studios in Seattle? I noticed one next to Ballard Coffee Works, cool neighborhood.
@AndrewColemanSmith6 жыл бұрын
Of course your comment made it! You were one of the first! 💪🏼 also these are great ideas! I’m a little scared of a 90min class, but now I want to at least try it (I’ll schedule it for the evening just to be safe 😂)

I think you HAVE to be selfish about it to make it work. In fact, I think you can't take care of others if you don't take care of yourself first - so really, it's not selfish at all in my opinion. Thank you so much for watching my vids. I love when you said you get excited about Fat Tuesdays. That made me happy 😊👊🏼 #FatTuesdayFAM Love!
