Before and after Face lift, part 2. Join me as I interview my Surgeon as he recounts the procedure step by step and give me advice on recovering. If you are considering a facelift for yourself, this will be the most comprehensive video series on youtube for a facelift from start to end.
#Lorryhill #BeforeandAfter #Facelift
My plastic surgeon for my facelift is Dr. Timothy Marten. The interview with him is very in depth, and worth watching, however, I will summarize some of the major points that we cover:
0:00 Intro
1:11 Stitch removal and recovery after face lift
2:02 Post-op follow up with Dr. Marten
2:50 Diet and exercise restrictions after face lift
3:20 Swelling and bruising after face lift
3:50 Face lift surgery explained by Plastic surgeon Dr. Marten
4:20 Fat grafting explained
5:35 Locations of fat grafting during Face Lift
7:20 How facial fat shifts with aging
8:40 General anesthesia vs local anesthesia for face lift surgery
10:58 Recovery from anesthesia / feeling sick from anesthesia
12:02 When to start exercising and eating normally after face lift
12:40 Sutures, scarring, and incision locations from facelift
14:50 Hairline and hair transplants after face lift explained
16:02 Post Surgical drains, and why they are used.
16:50 Botox and Fillers, and end of interview with Dr. Marten
17:33 My recovery timeline, and scars.
19:17 Before and After Photos of face lift
20:17 My thoughts, and the mental toll of surgery
21:32 Pain and discomfort after face lift
22:02 Support of family and friends
22:37 Recovery photos after face lift
23:19 Outro
He starts with some quick questions about how I was feeling after a week, such as my diet, activities, and pain. He gave me some pointers on how long I needed to wait before certain movements and exercise.
Jumping into the surgery, he covers the changes made during the neck and face lift. He was so thorough that he fixed some slight asymmetries. He explained how that's solved. Dr. Marten explains the stage of healing I was at, with 8 days, the face is a little bottom heavy. He proceeded to show me a chart of how much fat they took , and explained how they take out slightly more than needed to extract high density fat with stem cells, which are better for rejuvenation, the extra fat stays out and is like a complimentary free mini liposuction. He even told me the exact amount that he put in each location, which was really eye opening. He went on to explain how with aging the fat migrates from under the skin to be under the muscles, and how they extract the deep fat and leave the outer fat to preserve the youthful look. Anesthesia was the next topic covered, where Dr. Timothy Marten explained general anesthesia, vs local anesthesia, and what kind of anesthesia was used for me and how it is done without needing hospital style anesthesia. He even explained some precautions that are made to keep the patient's body warm and comfortable for quick and easy recovery without nausea. The end he teaches how to ease into exercise as I recover, and then looks at the scar which is tucked in the ear, which is longer to do, but also heals in a way less visible to people. Hair transplanting was also for after a lift, the hair line can be pulled back, and so the hairline may need to be fixed, typically 6-9 months afterward. Dr. Timothy Marten did not feel that I would need it, he fixed the hairline while doing the surgery to make it less needed. He explained the drains that were in the sides of my head, and how it helps suck things down, aren’t painful, and it removes fluid that can reduce swelling and bruising which speeds up the recovery process. He finishes off the conversation by explaining botox and fillers that can be used post surgery.
Some questions That you may want answered are, How much does a facelift cost?, how long does it take to recover from a facelift?, what age should you get a facelift, is a facelift worth it? And so much more. I will make sure to answer as many as I can.

Your authenticity and transparency about getting cosmetic procedures is SO refreshing! I don't think anyone has a problem with celebrities getting work done, but the fact that they deny and/or downplay it, which sets unrealistic expectations about what can be achieved naturally. Your channel is a breath of fresh air.

You’re so right to talk about the mental aspects of facial surgery. I’m transgender and had full facial feminisation surgery, that’s about 8 procedures in one day and it took about 6 months to not look visibly odd, a really challenging experience mentally and I wasn’t myself for about a year. I had to go through a spine surgery a month ago. That was so much much and struggle but it was necessary. Watching plastic surgeries makes me wonder: how can someone decide for so much pain and suffering just to look better. I am not judging! I just do not understand. It must be very important to a person , since there is so much risk and uncertainty, yet people go for it. I am glad you are happy with the results.

I'm in the same boat as you! It's not judgmental at all, but as someone who personally underwent a double lung transplant to not die and it was pretty damn painful, I don't think I'd put myself through an invasive cosmetic procedure. But then, I'm only 29 now so who knows when I'm older.

She had very early jowling, too. Good she took care of both issues early. When i saw my before pics that the surgeon took, i could no longer see why I needed a facelift. He was just a good photographer, lol. (Same when i went to fut my passport photo.) They contrasted with what i saw in the mirror and in selfies. But then, they showed me the one with my head down, and yikes, that hanging under chin needed to go.

I would never have the gut doing this, but IF I would, this would be the doctor to turn to! He really is remarkably informative, calm, honest and trustable, seems like a really nice and decent man. Most plastic surgeons I've watch in these kind of videos are almost aggressively positive and tough, a bit shallow and not talking about the bad sides that much.

My gosh, just awesome! I've been fearful to move ahead in getting a face/ neck lift and now I really need my eyes done too. I have aged so much this last year especially. I'm 65 divorced for a long time and hate how I look now. How to find the right surgeon and move forward on it has really hindered me. I've been taping the back of my neck for years and then my face decided to really drop.😱 Honestly think that the filler I had one time 3 years ago was the worst decision as it eventually shifted downward and created the problems I'm dealing with. Anyhow, all to say, I'm grateful for your full disclosure and all the details you have us. It's so very, very helpful🙏 Bless you🙏♥️
