My grandma passed away last august and she passed down her crochet hooks and yarn to me. There was even some WIP I plan on finishing. It was the best gift ever and brings me peace.

I’m so sorry to hear that. I feel for you 💓 I’m so happy that she was able to pass down some of her notions to you for you to use in her name. We were both left with the beautiful gift of a WIP and now we can finish the piece for them and it’ll be something that we did together with them 💓

This was such a sweet tribute to your grandmother and great grandmother! I recently inherited my 92-year-old Abuelita’s crochet hooks, needles and yarn stash. She was so happy to see that I was going to carry on her legacy. It’s so special to be entrusted with their well-loved treasures.

I love this so much! My dad found some of my great grandma’s crochet hooks. My other grandma before she passed away taught me how to crochet when I was young but I picked up again on it last year so I love how it’s passed down to me🥺

This was so interesting to see!! I loved this video - your grandma and great-grandmas craft stuff is all so lovely 🥰!! My best friends Nan died fairly recently, and she gave me and my sister ( she can knit really well, I’m the crocheter) all of her Nan’s knitting needles which was just so lovely 🥰! Xx

I also got my great grandmothers crocheting stuff from her last year when I mentioned my interest in it. I was reacting the same way seeing every little piece. I also got my great grandfathers sewing kit and the packaging is so cool to see✨

im pretty sure the stuff in the sears catalog is plastic canvas work! my mom used to have a client who made dollhouses from pattern books similar to the ones in the catalog- im pretty sure its just plastic with holes in it that you put yarn through to make patterns!

Hi! I think that is so cool that you have all of those crochet and knitting supplies from your grandma and great grandma. I have an afghan that my grandma crocheted with the dazzler yarn. I wish they still made that stuff. The Afghan is probably 40 years old and it's been washed and dried many times and is still in great shape. I also have some very old yarn from the 1960s and 1970s. It's amazing to see how far yarn manufacturing has come in that amount of time.

My grandma just handed a bunch of hooks and one vintage cotton skein down to me over Christmas break. Some of them even have the prices engraved into the hooks themselves. There’s one for $0.50! Half of them are regular sizes, and the rest are so small. My great, great grandmother and grandmother enjoyed making doilies and tablecloths. Some of their hooks you can’t even see the head of the hook, because they are so small. Other hooks have the “paint?” Worn off on the handles from being used so much.

I started learning how to crochet last April and my mom and grandma were so excited because my great grandma also crocheted. She passed away when I was a baby so I have no memories of her but I always feel she’s close by whenever I’m crocheting or cross stitching or doing embroidery

The larger wood circular hoops can also be used for quilting. On the square frame you would use tapestry tacks and either tack in Aida fabric to embroider/x Stitch or canvas for needlepoint. Just another old needlecrafts addict 😁. I really enjoyed this Erin!

You can NEVER have too many crochet hooks. Those bags and boxes are on plastic canvas. That craft was popular in the 1980’s. It was a lot easier then traditional needle point.
