MY FATHER AT CHRISTMAS. "It's Christmas but not as we knew it"

My late father who stayed with us at Christmas. I cringe at the memory of Christmas with him.

Like you my childhood memory is of a relative popping up Christmas Eve and staying til well after the New Year, Uncle used to work on the Tarmac, and he'd be tarred up, jump in our bath leaving a tar pit in it and up the sides, drove my mother nuts with his habits and stinking the place out..but we kids loved him he was generous and a great character.

I am in Germany and tried to understand what you told us. A rental TV in 1958,how lucky you were. I understand that you were too polite to get rid of him. Well he wasn't very sensitive, he didn't feel that he stayed for more than a week and that this was way too long

Esther he stayed for about 10 days and only went home the night before we all went back to work. Yes we had a rental Black and White tv was 13" screen in 1958. Could you not rent TV's in West Germany then?

A Cspon is a male chicken that has been castrated or neutered. It is supposed to improve the taste of the meat. I chose one from work when I started in 1978.
