The skill on display here is incredible. You can tell he lives, breathes, and eats boxing. By the way, the knockout counter @3:56 generated surprising power, considering he landed it without winding up. Also helps that his opponent walked into it trying to land his own power shot. Excellent breakdown.

@KevinJDildonik
@KevinJDildonik 3 ай бұрын
"He punches hard" is an L take. Power means almost nothing in high level boxing, as Usyk shows. A winning take is asking how can Inoue generate so much power in such tight spaces. He can surprise opponents with knockout punches in odd moments, and that's how he stumbles people. It's not just "innate". He has great core flexibility, and he uses full-body torque for punches other boxers wouldn't. It's like prime Mike Tyson. He's drilled a windup to do a killshot in a moment that other boxers might consider a relatively minor opening.
@GomaGoesFishing
@GomaGoesFishing 3 ай бұрын
@@KevinJDildonikpower is very important even in high level Boxing otherwise people will just eat through your punches. Harder to pull off your gameplan when your power isn't respected. but in the end, timing, proper positioning, and footwork beats power and speed. Usyk definitely has power, enough to make you respect him but he beats you with impeccable footwork. Making opponents miss their shots at the heavyweight level is a huge advantage because it tires them out fast

One thing I never get tired of watching, is how when someone is truly a master of their craft and operating in good form, it looks almost effortless. That goes for pretty much anything. A really good artist can take a pencil and sketch out a portrait with uncanny likeness in a few minutes. A top level musician can just step into a jam session and pick it up like it was rehearsed. A truly gifted fighter makes fighting look easy. Lerdsila is a good example, the best description of him I've heard is that he fights like people who've never been in, or trained for, a fight (but watch a lot of movies) thinks they would fight if it came down to it. "I'd just lean away from their punch and kick them in the head" no you wouldn't. Not without an ungodly amount of training and natural ability. Long story short, Inoue exemplifies that. Effortless skill can make the hardest accomplishments look easy. Amazing to watch

been a subscriber of this channel, and looking at Inoues style change against an opponent is a genius at work, while I lean more towards pacquiaos style like the manila ice counter, body shot , guard manipulation, over reliance on athleticism gets you with age as seen on ugas and even the current showmatch against a younger japanese mma fighter, Inoue on the other hand dissects and changes weapon according to the timing and the enemies condition, while in fight, mind boggling, incredible athlete, a nerd of the sport. kudos always for these videos always

The only way he is losing is by ko if someone catches him as he moves up in weight. Nobody is out boxing him and no one at the lower weights can take his punches.

Would you ever consider making a video or a series on how you analyze fights? It would be amazing to learn your process and understand how you pick up on the fighters' thought processes, movements, and techniques. I think it would really help anyone who wants to study boxing films on their own and appreciate the sport on a deeper level. Keep up the great work!

It's sadly obvious there's no one at 122 that is anywhere on par with Inoue's skill set and power. I can see him having challenges at 126 with much taller and stockier built fighters though. From Espinoza, Ball, Figueroa and Vargas. Even if his power carries to that weight class it would still be rough going.

@@RD-wg9em I agree. It's tough to see him going any further than 126 with his frame. Unlike Pacquiao, who was never a body snatcher, Inoue's best play would be to go for the liver and gut punches even more. Then up to the head when he's worn them down. Since Inoue can actually box, him dominating at that level could happen.
@RD-wg9em
@RD-wg9em 2 ай бұрын
@@redghettosun the issue is just how dominant he is at 22. Nakatani coming up is the only compelling fight left. @redghettosun
@redghettosun 2 ай бұрын
@@RD-wg9em The only serious opposition Inoue's had was Donaire at 118 who had both power and great boxing skills AND a good chin. Tapales was sturdy but no real power. Fulton had skills but no power. Waiting for him to throw the WHITE FANG. He did it once in his sparring and did it in one of his matches but missed (forgot who it was). In short, he is the REAL Alexander Volg.

He would never come back down to featherweight, but Loma vs Inoue would be the fight to make. Loma is too small for lightweight anyway. I think Bob arum handles both of them though so that won’t happen

Inoue is this generation's Ricardo Lopez, an amazing talent unfortunately held back by the fact he's so far beyond his contemporaries in his division that he's often overlooked as a result.

Honestly think it’s that plus the fact he’s small. An equivalent fighter doing what he did at 135+ would probably receive more accolades for it.

I don't understand but how in the world his punches so heavy and powerful? Why can't other boxer train like him? So is that mean he born to have a strong hands? if no one can train like him?
@gotakai5831

In a Japanese interview he explained how it’s not necessarily his power but timing and rotation of his body that makes it feel more powerful than most, and considering his younger brother who he trains with isn’t known for his power it’s safe to say it’s Naoya’s thing

@@Jupiterxice Any decent boxer aiming to be a champ would fight where there's a belt. WBA, WBC, WBO and IBF belts are all in Japan, so that's exactly where the matches should take place. Not the US. As for Tank, he can be worthy if he at least unifies one division.

Tank is 3 weights above if that’s the benchmark why doesn’t Tank go up 3 weights n fight boots to be considered good ? Or is this standard only placed on Inoue who has moved 4 weights undisputed at 2 ?

This is just two things - destruction, and manipulation. And really, it's all manipulation. Rule of three is good for content, but sort of misses the point to make this go longer: Inoue is a master of manipulation his opponent's guard, and his opponent's weight.

So you admit to not having an opinion of your own and just regurgitate what others say? That's called being an NPC my friend. As for my opinion, Inoue is by no means "overrated" but his opposition thus far compared to the likes of Canelo, Crawford, and especially Usyk keeps him out of the top P4P ranks in my book. Cry.

@@hewhoshallnotbenamed5168 Inoue admits he has no rivals in his class. That's why he says he insists on KO to prove the difference in ability between him and his opponent. Inoue says, "If a decision win is good enough for me, I am confident that I can win without getting hit by a single punch." If he wants to win by KO, he will be hit by punches, but so will Usyk and Bud. What exactly are Inoue's inferiority points?

His 1st pro fight was an 8rounder against a national champ, 6th was a world champ, in his 8th fight he moved up 2 divisions to fight the champ with 45 wins and only 1 loss to Donaire, everytime he moved up he fought a champ. He's only fought the toughest opponents he could in his division. His opponents usually have the size advantage.
