I wanted to thank everybody who supported the channel this year. It's been a really fun year of making videos and I really really appreciate the fact that you guys would take time out of your day to see what I have to say. I'm taking a pause on the music channel in 2024 but I'll still be uploading! I'm doing a weekly show on the channel that I'm currently commenting on (light plug lol) that will be coming out every Monday! I'll be focusing a lot of time into making music this year so stick around if you'd like to hear what I've been cooking up. If you want to see more of my content, then I'll see you every Monday :)

i saw george clanton along with deaths dynamic shroud and frost children on my birthday and holy shit one of the best concerts i’ve been to(laser show was crazy and his light set looked so cool)🙏🙏 so glad to see my name is on this list too! i know you said you’re going to take a break but if you get the chance you should check out a lot of the other albums in the 5th wave emo or post emo sphere as the community is pretty niece and i think a lot of the albums get a lot less praise than they deserve. voz volta did a really good video on it but my favorite albums to come out of the scene would be come in by weatherday and the sound of computers thinking by godfuck

3D Country is one of my AOTYs as well. My friend showed me it and 2122 blew me away its one of the best openers I've heard in a while, I actually just bought the album on vinyl Edit holy shit the Lamb as Effigy too. Thats my #1 this year. Fastest ive ever been able to consider an album one of my alltime favorites my review on it is HELLA long lmaoo its such a shame they disbanded right after its release.

Ya I think 2122 takes the cake for best opener of the year for me. I definitely need to give Lamb of Effigy another listen I think the length is what's stopping me haha seems worth it though

I really liked the new Depeche Mode album ‘Memento Mori’ their best work in years. I’m surprised at how overlooked it’s been from so many year end best lists. Give it a listen if you haven’t already

3D Country and My Name Is… are both in my top 10 too! 3D Country is some of the best and most unique rock revivalism and the dudes voice is like crack. My Name Is… is like you said, so immaculately crafted and perfect at what it is. Great picks overall and happy new year!

@@KyleReidMu avantgarde black metal (they actually call their music “Transcendental Black metal”) with very interesting chamber elements in it. Every single track sounds so HUGE and with a strong sense of progression. The only downside is that it has too many interludes which make the album 75 minutes long and I get they’re part of the concept of the album which is divided in 4 parts, but still.

Did you like the new James Blake, i was surprised by how much of a banger it was. Also, gotta plug one of my favorite American Primitive artists: Hayden Pedigo’s Happiest Times I Ever Ignored. My favorite album of 2023 was probably Yoyo by A Beacon School. I was actually introduced to ABS by one of your videos (I think it was the summer albums one?) and was eagerly awaiting the follow-up to Cola, and it absolutely delivered - doesn't have a single weak track and it's nonstop vibes front to back. If you haven't heard it yet, would strongly recommend - it definitely seemed to fly under the radar a little but it's probably my favorite dream pop release since Slowdive S/T.

An album that drop this year and I don't see a lot of people talking is Música do Esquecimento da Sophia Chablau e Uma Enorme Perda Tempo. And also the Underscores album is amazing, great choice

I think that an album that has been criminally underappreciated was the new Colin Stetson record, When We Were That What Wept for the Sea. It may be the only album that I heard from him but damn is it a good one.
