I was so pleased to see this your tutorial. I have so much yarn,which I love. I have gotten older and suffer from severe neuropathy which make it hard to crochet or knit. Then I too realized I could enlarge the Grandmas favorite dishcloth pattern, the only pattern I’ve recently found comfortable knitting. Thank you for taking the time to to put this together.

This was exactly what I was looking for thank you!!! It's my first time knitting a baby blanket and I had no idea that you had to decrease and then how to do that and also work with the yarn over stitch that I have been using. Super grateful for your detail!!! Especially the part of when to decide when to decrease and laying the blanket flat and measuring!!

Wonderful tutorial....new moms appreciate acrylic blankets. This seems the perfect "recipe" to practice Continental knitting, also....

Thanks so much for this awesome tutorial! I used Baby Bernat baby blanket yarn in a pink/lavender/white colorway and followed your instructions. To avoid "pooling," I switched to another skein (same color) after one row across and back again. I followed along with your way of finishing the blanket, starting when there are seven stitches remaining in order to not mess up the yarnovers. It worked great! Bobbie 😍

To make sure I have enough yarn to finish my blanket, I weigh the ball of yarn on a digital kitchen scale, divide that by 2 and wright that number on the ball band. I then increase the blanket till the weight of the yarn gets close as possible to the weight number I wrote on the ball band and that’s when I start my decrease. I have found using this method I always have enough yarn and very little left over.

Thanks I like this with knit through the back loop. I've made this pattern but always with yarn over leaving the little hole.

Learned a new cast-on method, thanks! I used to either use a reg. long tail or knitted method. Thanks for a great tutorial! I also have the same "quirk" drives me nuts when that happens LOL

TY…this is a great pattern, and a very nice color combo! I, too, use circular needles when knitting baby blankets,,,(and several other projects). I think it insures that during many interruptions, I can generally slide my project to the center of the joiner cord and lay down a piece and pick it up without loosing a stitch…or a gazillion;-)

Hello! I love love love this pattern! So simple to knit, with such a brilliant result! I have 3 in the works at the moment … my new go-to blanket! I’m working on making a rectangle or scarf, too! All figured out, just a lot of math & yarn weighing, ugh. But your tutorial is great, very clear, and your voice is so pleasant. Thanks much for sharing your idea! 😊💕

Yes, I’ve used this pattern forever as a wash/dishcloth and have thought before that it would make a great blanket as well. So yay!

I scrolled through the entire video looking for at least one shot of what the finished blanket would look like. Disappointed not to find anything.

It looks lovely. How can we make it in rectangle shape.
@Bindersandcash192 жыл бұрын
You would have to cast on how ever many sritches you wanted say 150 etc thrn keep in knitting until your work it longer rather then wider.
@ernestinemartinez6942 Жыл бұрын
@@Bindersandcash19then it wouldn’t be a c2c.......There’s the increase row..... then the middle section. Which would make it into a rectangle.... then the decrease section for finishing.... But u still start off with a SMALL amount of stitches like usual

Hi, I’m curious why you just don’t knit 2 together for the decrease and leave it at that? Is there a reason you K2tog, yo, then k2tog again? Is it just to keep it looking similar to the increase rows?
@DeHartHouse5 ай бұрын
That's right. The extra Yo and K2tog keeps the decreased edge looking similar to the increased edge.

How much wool is needed in this project
@DeHartHouse Жыл бұрын
This pattern is adaptable depending on what size you want to make. For the blanket I made in this video, I used the two balls of Mandala yarn, which is about 1180 yards of worsted weight acrylic yarn. If you want to make a smaller blanket, then less yardage is needed. Likewise if you want a larger blanket, you'll need more yarn.

Enjoying tutorial but the music is far to loud and l am hoping it doesn’t go right through the tutorial. Tfs

Thanks for the comment! I'm sorry about the music volume. Having music in the background is something I tried, but have since decided not to do for that reason.

Beautiful blanket but music makes your video unwatchable.
@DeHartHouse2 ай бұрын
@@bonniewilliams3266 Sorry about that. These days I use music to fill the non-speaking portions of videos rather than having it continue throughout.

How many stiches in longest row?
@DeHartHouse Жыл бұрын
I didn't count stitches. Instead, I weighed the yarn to know how much was half of the skein, to make sure I had enough to finish, and measured the length/width.
