I'm a new subbie this morning. First saw "Labels 2.0" early this morning. Love them. So different than all label videos I've seen. So I will be making them next. This video on books is FANTASTIC!!! When I first started making junk journals 2 years ago, I could NOT cut up a book!!! Cuz I love books. But I got over it cuz I'm retired and decided it's time to USE my books. I've gotten many great used thrift store books and I love using them for journal making. Its a great way to "share" old books. I told myself NO MORE BOOKS for a while. Then I saw a video about a journal maker's thrift store haul. I HAD to try to find them and I got several of them. Bought 10 more books last week. For making journals. I like to make journals with favorite subjects for people. Music, ballet, etc. Its great for personalizing journals. Right now I'm working on 4 journals and the people they are for, are French, Irish, & Polish. So I'm using books about those countries & their history. And in those languages. They will really appreciate the personal touch. I use several online used book websites. So I put what I want on my WISH LIST and when they get that book they send me a text. I've been able to get all the books I've wanted. And they also show you similar books I can also buy. So that is helpful too. I started doing this when Covid shut stores down. And its easier and faster than looking for specific books in thrift stores. My only REAL PROBLEM is my lack of self-discipline to stop buying books!!! LOL!!! Thx for this great video. Austin,TX USA

@SevenplazaCreative2 жыл бұрын
@Ingescreativeworld2 жыл бұрын

How long have you been collecting and junk journaling? I’ve only been doing it for a year and have amassed so many. It’s addictive. I was a teacher for 16 years so I love books. Have several Edith books from eBay $12 each. Just found one for $1.00 in my small town defunct library books. They have about 200 books left and are in our town hall. I bought 20 books. I was ecstatic.

Hi Tammy, it is very addictive indeed . I have been journaling and collecting for 4 years now. An Edith Holden for $1 is an absolute steel. But I can top that 😜 found one for €0,50 in a thriftshop couple of years ago.

Prachtige boeken Margreth!
@SevenplazaCreative2 жыл бұрын
@marjandewith41712 жыл бұрын

New subbie here. I loved seeing all your books and have many of the same ones. Here's a couple of recommendations for botanical books - A Field Guide in Colour to Wild Flowers by Dietmar Aichele, illustrated by (originally published in German) - Wild Flowers of the World by Barbara Everard and Brian D Morley. Both books were published in the UK by Octopus books. Octopus also published the Oxford Book of Wildflowers and others in the same series. I had never heard of Leonard de Vries and found his collection fascinating. You might look up Robert Opie, he has a really interesting series of books featuring adverts and brand packaging. Happy book hunting. Hope you can still find some room on your shelves.
