I love this episode and I have to share why. When I was little, my mom got me a children's bestiary which I still have to this day. In it, it contained the Vegetable Lamb of Tartary- a creature not seen that much in popular culture. The Vegetable Lamb was my favorite creature in that bestiary and I'm glad to see it represented in the media!

also random tidbit: in english dub when marcille healed itzusumi broken arm the yell she did she made it sound almost like the yell from tom and jerry, the yell tom the cat makes.

2:05 there is a lot of misconception/derogatory views of half foots in dungeon Meshi world but it’s rooted to that. Legend has it they were regular ppl, group of them steal and as punishment cast a curse to be short and childlike. So forever they are viewed as childlike criminals. This still exist especially on chikchuck reasons for forming a guild, brought up back in the episode kabru party was deducting who took their stuff, mickbell (other half foot) was telling kabru about the Union/guild chilchuck wanted but to mick and others they view this as a way for him to pocket extra money. But in truth chil does want to form a Union since (this form sidd chapter) when hd first started out the party he joined recruited him to hunt for sucucbus essence, no questions ask. His gut later told him something wasn’t right so he hid. He over heard the party leader saying they had fo change plans since their bait, the half foot ran away. So yeah later in adventurer bible half Foots were put into a lot of bad situations/mistreated.

Izutsumi basically just that kind of cat which you give it water, food, a warm bed and all your love, but it still hissing at you for no reason Don't expect she to change too much There's some fun content in extra manga that I don't think it will be animated but still Spoiler Alert . . . . . . . Izutsumi is a cat mixed with human soul, not a human mixed with a cat soul if Izutsumi really find a way to lift her curse, she will just turn back into a cat

8:24 imho they kinda botched this scene. cause in the manga panel they the creator went full grumpy cat face for itzusumi unhappy with the winter coat on. funny is they changed her face a bit in the anime, but the pose and face for marcille here is exactly same as manga. except in anime she is stretching out her arm with the staff which you can see, in manga staff is behind itzusumi with marcille arm more laxed with the staff. odd scene choice trying to make the staff here important/fill in scene space.
