@@TimDessaint Fellow 5'7er here. I assume you're buying the 28 inch inseam denim from ANF. Do you find they are the 'perfect' length or still a tad long - but just not worth having a tailor shorten them? I ask b/c I noticed they are a little longer than in your older video "The Proper Length for Every Type of Pants." I have a normal torso to leg ratio, and typically have them shorted to about a 26.5 to 27 inch inseam. It depends on how someone measures it, but my tailor said it's best to focus on the outseam length instead since different jeans have different rises. Or are you simply preferring a slightly longer length these days, and if so, why?
@TimDessaint7 ай бұрын
@@thad8909 I get the 30 inch inseam from Abercrombie. Been preferring a full break with jeans lately, so they’re the perfect length for me 👌
@thad89097 ай бұрын
@@TimDessaint Oh really? Why has your preference shifted from a half break to full break? Is it due to you liking a looser, straight fit? I prefer a slimmer fit with a taper which equals their Athletic Skinny cut.

A&F has really stepped up lately. They went from a brand I haven't looked at in 16 years to a brand that has now earned my attention and my money again. I love their hoodies and sweatshirts in particular, very comfortable and they nailed the silhouette.

+1 for Abercrombie having a 28” inseam. As a shorter dude who has sort of long legs, and a short torso, I’m always between a 28” or 30” inseam. Abercrombie makes the jeans/pants shopping experience for shorter dudes enjoyable. Hope they keep this indefinitely. Wish they’d stock the 28” inseam in store though.

I feel the exact same way about Acne. There's so much stuff you have to filter through if you have a more refined/understated style. It's that 10% that just about makes you do a double take and think "Yeah I can make that work with my existing wardrobe." That FOG wool hoodie is incredible btw, I'll have to check out the usual sites to see if anyone feels like parting with it! Ha ha ha. Shame about the essentials line having "essentials" plastered all over it. Probably decent stuff but obnoxious branding is a severe turn off for me regarding clothing! Lol. Represent did the same thing a few collections ago and it was awful looking.

I’m a petite woman and find most tops, sweaters/hoodies and jackets way too long for me even in petite sizing lines. I think one reason for this is that longer styles dominated from 2000-2020 when we were all wearing mid-rise, skinny bottoms and super-long tops. Many brands have just been too slow to adopt the more current silhouette of shorter cuts in their top layers. I don’t want any top garment, except for long coats and some jackets, obscuring nearly my whole body by ending at mid-thigh, it makes me look shapeless and even smaller. I tuck in every top that falls below the top of my hipbone or wear waist-length tops. I’m 64 and most women my age still wear that unflattering, dated, big, long top over skinny bottom look, it’s so aging. The pendulum is swinging back again and long tops are coming back, but they’re fitted or open from hem to waist.
