I never been fishing Skykomish from a 12” aluminum boat, worry it will get stuck on shallow water. Can I get some advice on where shallow areas I should be avoiding or if there is tidal areas I should be avoiding. Thanks!

That small of a boat is not meant for the Skykomish. I’m sorry I would only use something like that in the snohomish. Where are you feel comfortable. The Skokomish is way too shallow right now in particular, and that smaller boat has more of a chance of flipping than anything else.

@@HolyMolyOutdoors you bet! Oh man, the spinner was lights out. Do you ever put a swivel between the hook and the body of the spinner? As much as it was lights out, we also lost a heap of coho after the first initial coho death roll. I’ve heard the swivel ads a bit of extra room so they can’t use the body of the spinner as leverage to pry the hook 🤷🏼‍♂️

Question maybe you can answer: At what point are the fish no longer good to keep to eat? I've heard once they get upriver they aren't good.

Honestly Coho hold up pretty well until they are straight fire trucks (red and black). I have no problem eating or smoking an upriver coho

@@HolyMolyOutdoors Yeah was out there earlier and it looks pretty good. Just a few jacks biting my beads though. Big boys weren't feeling too aggressive on either finesse or hardware haha. The level should be super nice tomorrow morning. Allows them to get up into the main upper holes easier since I know under the bridge is probably a pain in the neck for them to get through when it was as low as it is the past week.

@@HolyMolyOutdoorsI’m new to coho fishing and recently found your channel, I’ve already adjusted some of my tackle based on your videos but I’m trying to learn more about their behavior and how to find them. Do they come up river or bite more often during the rain or shortly after a rain when the water level has risen? We had a good rain in my area yesterday and I considered going out in it but decided to go today thinking it will give them some time to get in the river now that the water level has gone up. Thanks for making helpful content!
