You're a smart guy regarding not taking on too much. When my children were born, and very small, I realized I couldn't balance taking good care of all my turtles with everything else. I wasn't getting the help I expected. But now that my kids are older I am asking myself if maybe it's the right time for a few turtles again. Nothing will be perfectly in balance, but you can tell if you feel like you are fighting a losing battle or if you are enjoying the bit of craziness.

I lst my mom 41 years ago. I sttill wake up from dreams of her wondering where she is today. The pain becomes a part of you buttt it never disappears totally for all time, which is a good thing. No one wants to gorget their loved ones who have gone ahead nand beyond in the next journey.

Your mum did A great job at raising you. I lost A loved one in 2020, for the first while I couldn't stand the pain, but slowly I came to terms with it, and can't wait to see them again on the other side (this can't be all there is).

Agree with using ZooMed as a supplement diet. I personally avoid Mazuri as they use cane molasses in their diets to elicit feeding responses…and I try to avoid using sweets for that purpose. Condolences on your loss.

Love the Q&A! Some of my turtles eat their fresh greens but I have three sliders that won’t eat fresh no matter what I try lol 😂 I may cut of some greens to look like pellets 🤔🤣 trick them lol 🐢 Also so sorry to hear about your mom ❤️❤️

I think pellets for hatchlings can be very important depending on the species. If I don’t get my spengleri on pellets asap, they don’t grow well and will flare out a ton.

I can see that. I only know what I have experience with, mostly native species. Spengleri, who really knows what exactly the hatchlings are eating in those Vietnamese forests; there’s species of inverts that there is no way of acquiring as feeders here in the states

Hey Greg, sorry to hear about your mom passing. My mom was my motivator and rock in life. My mom passed fairly quickly in 2018 and I know how much it sucks man. I also lost my dad back in 2005 in a freak accident at my house. I know what you are going through. If you ever need anybody to talk to or ask questions about the future moving forward, or just some motivation to deal with this tough time, let me know. I can share what I went through with you and how I am doing today. I will tell you one thing though. If it is possible for you, stay close to your dad and any siblings you have. This helps a lot and acts as a support system for each other. I know it sucks but like you said just try to do what your mom would want you to do and live your life. Over the years it gets easier to come to terms with things but you will never stop missing her. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
