We got down to 0 f. My ponds froze over with the exception of the water flow. Everyone took it like a tank, especially the diamondbacks. My Russians are underground, hopefully they did well.

Your ponds are looking good. Here in Michigan, we've been single digits the past couple days. Even with aerators going, my ponds just completely froze over yesterday and now buried in a half foot of snow.

Only about one week a year of brutal cold, otherwise it’s fairly mild

My Russians passed away last winter due to the cold temperatures we have in Utah...they dug burrows at least 2 feet deep. Do you cover yours in leaves?

@@garynicholls2457 Sorry about the loss. Our frost line is 32in and the burrow goes down 40". I lay an 8x10ft tarp on top of the grass over the burrow. The roof extends over the entrance like a tunnel to help keep water out. I also remove snow from the entrance to let some oxygen in. Going passed the frost line is very important. Hope this helps

My power was down for 16+ hours and my Razorbacks tank temp dropped so low I didn't even know what the temp was. How low of a temp can they handle before something happens to them? I couldn't sleep all night thinking about it plus I was absolutely freezing as temps were only 10 degrees at night. I finally put 2 layers of towels over the tank to try to keep the heat in as best as I could. Power finally came back and it took all day to re heat her tank which is still not fully warmed up. Worst night/day ever!
