I agree totally about the All Clad ... I purchased a set of All Clad over 30 years ago and have added some to it over the years. I know it will last the rest of my life and probably the life of my daughter after me. I would like to add that for those who do not have the $$ or want to spend the $$ for the enameled cast iron brands you mention, I have enameled cast iron from Lodge and it has held up wonderfully at less than half the price of the others. I also love my regular cast iron ... my favorite piece being a skillet that belonged to my mother and is over 70 years old now. It's a joy to cook with.

Great video, Lisa. Thank you! I bought my All-Clad because of you, and I am a much better cook!😉 I absolutely love it, and it took me 30 years to realize..”Buy quality even if expensive from the get-go!” I’ve had SO many pots and pans over the years including Calphalon, and none compare. Plus, they scratch and stick. Your thoughtful care in analyzing medical aspects is right up my alley. You are the best!! My only thing to add is that if you ever go to a Princess House Crystal Party, the Fantasia glass cookware is excellent! I’ve used it for 28 years and it’s still going strong.

My sister has all clad and with that straight side they are so hard to pour out of. I have had cuisinart stainless pans that I bought individually - all at one time when I got married. Bought 1.5qt upto 12qt stockpot all w lids and they have held up amazingly well. No warping - nothing and they are really well balanced and the curved lip makes life so much easier to pour out everything from chai to browned meats or stews. They are also about half the cost. My 2 cents after using both brands. Love your channel

Paid a silly price for them but the good thing is that they come with lifetime warranties which Ive actually used and they have honoured without question. Ive replaced a chef's pan, fry pan and large pot (which were all getting on to 15 years old). Lovely heavy base, useful on a hob and in the oven and induction ready (which would mean something if I ever replaced our gas hob for an induction one I guess :) ). Also have Le Creuset skillet and casserole pans and absolutely love them...just don't drop them or you will break what ever they hit :)

6:30 You can get non-stick pans now that are totally safe, can be used with metal utensils and will last you as long as a stainless-steel pan! :-) Try to take a look at the cheapest version, the onyx stainless-steel pans, only downside to them is that you do still have to keep them at a maximum of medium heat, and you have to heat them slowly.

After going through several sets of nonstick cookware in my lifetime, I finally bit the bullet and invested (and it IS an investment) in Demeyere Industry series stainless cookware and love it. I also have several pieces of Le Creuset for stews, big pots of beans and roasting. I've got the original Corningware PYROCERAM (not all CW are pyroceram) pieces, which are great for casseroles and side dishes, but I don't have any bakeware. What do you use to bake cakes and pies and bread? Pyrex or a metal bakepan?
@laurens.roesler33265 жыл бұрын
Pies.Breads, brownies etc. can be baked in cast iron loaf pans or skillets. Corn bread comes out amazing in cast iron pans like “lodge” brand or “le Creuset” -enameled cast iron. I’ve never baked a cake in cast iron. Not yet, however it should be ok. Maybe line it with unbleached parchment as you would with non- stick bakeware.

Hi, I recently bought a premium stainless steel cookware set after being inspired from this video and got rid of cheap non-stick ones. Although mine is not All-Clad, it is very nice stainless steel cookware from a relatively newer company. I started using it and notice that after every dish, the bottom of the pan or pot is stained and you can see where the food made contact with the pan. I use low-medium heat as suggested and preheat the pan before adding oil and cooking as well. I was wondering if you could share if your pans do the same and it just requires cleaning with some combination of vinegar or baking powder. Every time I use my pan I have to clean it either with baking soda or vinegar and I was wondering if that's normal and would that wear on the pan over time. I know that stainless steel is a bit more tricky to clean versus non-stick pans, but I haven't been able to clean the pot or pan without having to soak it in some sort of acidic solution to make the cookware look clean and shiny again. Are you able to just clean with soap and water with your All-Clad?

GREAT analyse of different material cookwares. the most healthy material is S/S cookware. all the other all cover with coatings. enamel coating/non-stick coating/ceramic coating/preseason coating... i had use to been in the cooware manufacture business before. pre-season coating will be the worst. in EU. it can not pass LFGB. but in USA FDA is accept by some parts of the test result. For the utensil, i prefer use wood or bamboo.for non stick cookware.it is much safety for food contact. as there differnent grade of silicone. heat-resisten mostly only up to 180~230 degrees.

Here In the UK there is a company called Samuel Groves who still hand make all of their range, most if not all of their pots/pans are covered by their Pans for life warranty. So the pans can be sent back to them for various repairs including recoating of their non stick range. :)

Are they non stick?
@calisongbird3 жыл бұрын
@@vickigollop1216 stainless steel is not non-stick, however there are cooking techniques you can use to minimize sticking. Search KZbin on “cooking eggs in stainless steel pan” or “stainless steel pan mercury test.” You have to let the pan heat up dry to a certain temp, then test by dropping water drops in it. If it sizzles and then evaporates, it’s not hot enough and food will stick - especially protein foods. If the water balls up and looks like mercury, it’s ready to add your oil and room temperature food (adding cold food to a hot pan will result in sticking). Let meats, fish, and poultry sit on counter for 10-15 min after removing from the fridge, so it’s not too cold.

TheBigpapax30 Wolfgang Puck stainless steel is an excellent alternative and is just durable and high quality. I’ve had my set for 15 years and it looks new. Also, Lodge makes excellent alternatives to Le Creuset. You too can have amazing cookware. I love all of my pieces and they’re lifetime purchases on a budget ✅💯

Pricey but I'd rather spend a little money now and have it last a lifetime vs going the cheap route and end up having it break or not last.🙂

What is your opinion on the All-Clad B1 non stick pans...they are 3 ply and have no ptfe but as you say there is another coating that substitutes ptfe.

Can you tell us how you fried that perfect egg with All-Clad? Mine always turns out burnt or sticks to the pan
@fxE201704 жыл бұрын
P311 C heat the pan medium and wait roughly 2 minutes. Pour a small drop of water and wait to see if it evaporates immediately or it bounces around the pan. If it evaporates the pan has not heated enough try again in 30 seconds or so. Once it does hear then apply your oil and coat the pan. That should do it.

If I had to do it again, I’d get my All-Clad pans without long handles. It cracks me up that folks from the US get their parents to buy them stuff. OMG it took me 20 years to save up for my kitchenware, piecemeal. I’d love to have an all grey, white set of pieces I tried, but I could never find any of them on sale. So, my awkward collection pieces of Stab & LeCreuset are a goddamned rainbow of whatever I could afford, when I could find it.

Sorry our parents don't want us to starve. Instead of saving up for kitchenware, save up for new parents.

I totally agree... but why it happens that all stainless pot have i dont know the word... ill call them edges that also get heated like the rest of the pot? Couldnt they use other material like wood or plastic so you can lift it up and tranfer it safely? Also when you wanna see the progress or stir up the food its all over heated!!
