Great video man! I recently fell down the electric rabbit hole (been justifying just playing cowboy chords for way too long) and your videos have been crazy helpful. Is there a modeler you’d recommend on a budget or would I be better off just holding off to buy a helix? I play in a mainly 90s/Texas country outfit.

I would look into an hx stomp. The helix is great but I can do about 90 of what I need from it on the stomp. You can find them used for pretty decent prices. Tone wise it’s the same engine as the helix, you just can’t add as many effects at once

Any tips on what you would change for a guitar with humbuckers after I buy it?

I would take off the noise gate since you won’t be dealing with single coils, the rest is gonna be up to your ears, I would consider changing that cut I have in the EQ block or at least mess around with some different values there and see what sounds good. Also might be worth changing the drive settings on some of the overdrive blocks since humbuckers are going to drive the amp a little harder!

I recently purchased your presets but they will not load into my helix. I updated my helix before I tried to install your presets but my helix gives me an error saying it doesn’t recognize some of the products in this preset. I have purchased and loaded other presets into my helix with no issues, has anyone else had this problem? If so were you able to fix it and how, thanks for any info you can give me. I love the sound of these patches and would love to be able to use them thanks again!

Hey Darrell, sorry you’re having issues. I know it’s a pain but maybe try re-updating your helix? In the past anyone who has had issues with things not loading has resolved the problem by doing the latest update.

I had already updated my helix and then tried to load your presets but they wouldn’t, so after loaded everything for my helix on to my laptop your presets loaded right in, and sound great! Guess it may have been my old outdated Mac desktop 😂. Again thanks!

Unfortunately not this one, I use both signal paths so it’s not compatible with the stomp.
