Just curious- have you done any modifications to your M4 yet? Would love to see an update if you have!
@PhantomLlamasDen Жыл бұрын
No…not yet sadly… instead of upgrading/accessorizing the firearms I have, I have this issue of just buying more firearms… Especially when it comes to how much it will cost to do even just the full length magazine tube. I will eventually though, I promise!

I'm from cali too. The got this h20 model for 1800. You are going to love it. I recommend getting a GGG bolt release.

@@Shadowdancer777 I got the H20 too. I paid $2100
@PhantomLlamasDen2 жыл бұрын
At least, depending upon where in Cali you live, the H20 model makes more sense. But damn is it a good looking model. You know- I got used to the stock bolt release. It could stand to be bigger but I really have gotten used to it. My first modification is definitely going to be the full tube (along with the other necessary modifications to make it legal)

Great video. Yes, the M4 is in a class by itself, and is a masterpiece. I agree, the standard stock, with grip, is perfect, and appears designed to fit the majority of owners. The collapsible stock wouldn't work for me on a shotgun. I've seen a lot of folks modifying the M4, but very, very little is needed. A sling, and the two-round genuine Benelli extension was it for me. Now, another masterpiece is the M3. Wow...
@PhantomLlamasDen2 жыл бұрын
100% on all points! Very little is needed for improving this shotgun. The extension in my opinion is a no-brainer. There are some nice-to-haves like a match saver, but it’s not necessary. It truly is an exceptional weapon platform!
@jacobpetersen56622 жыл бұрын
Collapsable stock is great to have for a person who's smaller. Also, I find I like it when using a red dot.
@PhantomLlamasDen2 жыл бұрын
Yes! I aim to get a red dot on mine but want to get the rail that allows for cowitnessing with the irons. I had thrown one of my red dots on it at one point but just didn’t care for how it seated. But I know there are options so it’s an eventuality!

Not so sure that the 9 vs 7 rd configurations is a Federal prohibition (although it may be a state restriction), the 7 rd tone might be a Benelli policy restriction.
@PhantomLlamasDen4 ай бұрын
922(r). Sadly it’s Federal. If it were up to Iowa we’d drop that, but all imported shotguns are limited. The way around it is to change out the proper components to make it more “American made”. It’s a ridiculous law. 922(r) also affects imported rifles. You should see how the lengths Zastava goes to to sell their AKs in the US.

Got the 7 round tube on mine. Texas still has freedom. Collapsing stock as well, large charging handle, picatinny flashlight/as sling mount, and bolt release paddle. That bone stock M4 needs upgrades still.
@PhantomLlamasDen Жыл бұрын
Oh we can still do the 7 round tube. Anyone in the country can. You just have to make sure you’re 922r compliant. That’s another federal-level ridiculous law. Side note, Iowa gun laws are pretty comparable to Texas. Thank goodness. But yes. There’s a few upgrades in store. So many projects! I am going to be getting the Scaler works mount for one of my red dots. It allows for cowitnessing with the irons.

I have a question I just bought some Winchester Super X upland game 2 3/4 inch , 1290 FPS 1oz 8oz shotgun shells . Are these good for target practice for a Benelli M1014
@PhantomLlamasDen4 ай бұрын
That depends! It will shoot it no issues. The issues MAY come in when cycling. My Benelli was a little temperamental when it came to target/practice/bird shot early on. Overtime after it was broken in, it has cycled EVERYTHING I’ve put through it with the exception of low recoil 00 buckshot. That said, it was very cold, and my M4 had gotten a bit fouled but mostly dry. So for just shooting casually at the range, i would suspect you should be fine. Just be sure if you have swappable chokes to use the appropriate choke! Remember however- this was designed as a combat shotgun so it is most at home with buckshot and slugs.

Ive owned shotguns for 50 of my 59 years, but the M4 Ive had for 3 weeks now, is the first I’ve owned with changeable chokes…..if you like shooting slugs, get the Carlson’s rifled choke- you will not believe how Accurate a M4 at 100 yds can be! Its 56 dollars well spent.
@PhantomLlamasDen2 жыл бұрын
Oh I k ow how accurate she is at 100yds haha. Actually have a video coming that has a bit more from the M4. Absolute monster. I have mine primarily set for home defense so I have a choke for buckshot and slugs. Not sure how a rifled choke would like that. But when I take it hunting this year maybe!
@p99guy2 жыл бұрын
@@PhantomLlamasDen well from KZbin tests of the rifled choke with buck shot…. At home Defence ranges it didn’t have much effect on it, as one would have thought. But ultimately my M4 is replacing my 590A1 in protecting a collage campus During active shooter situations. In Texas Peace officers are only limited by thier department as to what they carry on patrol( carbines and shotgun s) and I was quite used to that in the 21 yrs I was one. Armed security is limited to a sidearm and shotgun by the State of Texas. Soooo the M4 has To do what it was designed for. And it has to do it out to 70 yards. And most all of it with 9 pellet OO buck. I picked up a Kick’s Buck Kicker , extra full ( what they recommend for 9 pellet OO Buck) to get usable range for the load they insist on.) so rapid follow up shots is a nice thing to have. The actual campus police use Colt 6920 5.56 carbines with Aimpoint PRO sights. And of course, the bad guy will bring whatever they can afford lol
