This utility is very overlooked by magicians because it is obvious to other magicians, but if I perform for the lay public, ito them it seems impossible. I use this as a signed card to wallet ( no palm and wallet can be on view before you start; you can even show the card in the wallet before you begin) and the first part of the card under the box, etc.

T here is no reason to maintain the db on the top in the beginning. shuffle all you want. Have the spectator cut, then proceed.

Bought a svegali deck which contained a double backed card but the funny thing is the db is bigger than the deck cards and bicycle designed. I actually bought a disappearing card box to make it look like the db card turned into their chosen card and the back changed too. 😂

FABULOUS TRICK, SIR. THANK YOU FOR SHARING IT. I love using gimmick cards. This trick is like a reverse mind reading trick. Where you tell the spectator that he will be trying to read your mind, lol. This reminds me of a card to wallet version. Put your dble backer ( same color on both sides of the card, as the deck) in your wallet. Get the selected card to the top of the deck. You say that their card transported to your wallet. You pull out the card, showing only 1 side and put it on top of the deck. Ask what their card is and do a dble lift, show them that their card was in the wallet. I like having the wallet on the table before the trick starts. I had an idea about the card to wallet trick yesterday after performing it. After getting the selected card to the topnl of deck, I will do a few false cuts and shuffles. I will show the bottom card, that isnt their card, they say, No. I do a dble lift showing the 2nd card from the top of deck,they say, Nope. Then I open the wallet, but before I do a dble lift, to finish the trick, I ask what their card is, and do the dble lift and show the card. I found your channel 4 days ago and subscribed. I really enjoyed your trick, but I watch so much magic, I had to save your video to watch later. I forgot about the trick and that i saved it. I had a few minutes this afternoon to watch a few tricks and things that I saved, and Im glad i saw it today, because this is just great. I will be doing this tonight, and tommorrow. You claimed that you created a way that didn't seem out of place. Great! But a question I have about your need to place the double-backer on the packet in your left hand. If it was magic, wouldn't you simply flip the card face up? So you did need to make a funky move. Not that you did anything wrong. It's the same suspicious move that needs to be done to pull of the effect, by all other KZbin videos.

I don't see the point of the double back. Any card would work there as the card you choose.

If you don't use a double backed card, when you do the double lift at the end, the card you removed would be face up underneath their thought of card and you wouldn't be able to remove the thought of card and place it on the table. With a double backed card you can peel off the card they thought of and the card below is face down like the rest of the deck.

For me, the trick lacks logic in one thing. Why does the magician go through the deck, or what is the motivation to look for the spectator's card? ... when it is clear and the magician knows in advance (and later the spectator too) that the (supposedly) made-up card was on the table the whole time?

This effect always gets a good reaction. And the logic is simple: The magician thinks of a card, then removes it from the deck. Then asks the spectator to think of a card and goes through the deck out of courtesy only to discover the card isn't there and VOILA! the card you removed was the card they thought of. But, hey if it doesn't work for you....

Please don't misunderstand me. Yes, basically the trick works for me and it's good. I personally found only one part of it illogical, namely that the magician is looking for the spectator's card when he knows full well that it is not in the deck. As a motivation for this, you say, the magician goes through the deck out of courtesy only to discover the card isn't there. Okay... I have an idea with a different excuse. I say, "Look, I could now look for your card in the entire deck - but that would be nonsense - because the card you thought of is the only one not in there anyway." Magic for fun, what do you think about this `excuse` ? As a little convincer, I then do a slow face up, false overhand shuffle ( the card stays on top and the spectator won't discover 'his card' ) Then I get the DB from a wallet and say, ``And THAT is the reason why your card wasn't in the deck.''
