I feel like it's the best display of his full range of skills and got some all-time records in Sacrifices, Teenage Fever, Lose You, Do Not Disturb and Passionfruit. Not too many skips either and for a 22-song project, that's dope. Admittedly, it's got some sentimental/nostalgic value for me too

I think people have CLB kind of effed up. Songs like the remorse, pipe down, 7 am on bridal, champagne poetry, fucking fans, are peak level Drake songs. Could have been a better sequenced album but some fantastic individual songs on there

1. Take Care 2. IYRTITL 3. More Life 4. So Far Gone 5.Nothing Was the Same. I know it sounds crazy to put More Life this high but the day it came out it was the warmest day of the year so far where I lived. Passionfruit, Get it Together, Madiba Riddim and Blem just hit different. Also, I think you could argue some of his best r&b tracks like Passionfruit, Get it Together and Teenage Fever are on this record. Some of his best dancehall/afrobeats records are on here with Madiba Riddim and Blem. Some of his most introspective records are on here with Lose You, Can't Have Everything and Do Not Disturb. He actually talks about his insecurities, fears of losing his fans in vivid details and opens up on those songs in ways he didn't on Views and in ways I still don't think we've heard since. Free Smoke is an incredible intro, Can't Have Everything has some of his best rapping and Sacrifices and Ice Melts have some fantastic Young Thug features. The only record I actually don't like is Since Way Back. I just wonder if this project is slept on because he called it a playlist and if it mattered where you were when this was released. Some of these records are summer songs and him putting it out in March may have been a little too early for a lot of the U.S. I also didn't like Views at the time because there wasn't enough rap and thought this was what he should've put out instead of that one

NWTS is also my favorite drake album , it was his most concise album , I have no idea why he doesn’t shorten his albums to like 14-15 tracks. Drake is my favorite rapper but he starts missing me when he has 18+ tracks ( outside of take care, ifyrt,views) .. albums like scorpion and clb he seems to add to much filler

My top five projects from mr Aubrey that I do believe are classics from his discography. 1. If you’re reading this it’s too late 2. Nothing was the Same 3. Take care 4. More Life 5. So Far gone His worst project in my honest opinion are honestly never mind and views. Views of course had classics. But honestly nevermind with the exception of the few tracks. I don’t really come back to it. Also his mixtapes, what a time to be alive and the 21 savage collab projects are amazing. For all the dogs, and thank me later were ok. I still need to listen to comeback season and room for improvement in my free time. But nothing was the same, take care and if you’re reading this it’s too late are my top three. Mr Aubrey displayed a lot of energy, a lot of potential. I feel like since views. A lot of people have said that Mr Aubrey’s career went downhill. Because they don’t like when he sings, and that he is a culture vulture. Which I don’t agree with. Because yes while I understand not everyone will be a fan. But that does not take away the fact that he is the number 2 best selling hip hop artist of all time. And was the most streamed artist of the last decade. Anyone can not bring up the 2010’s of rap and say that mr Aubrey was not a big part. He is the biggest artist in the entire globe. And again I understand people don’t like him because of the whole back and forth with Mr Kendrick. Which it just baffles me that he is getting so much hate because of this beef. Mr Aubrey’s hard work and grind, has made him have more streams than mr Kendrick Lamar. Views an album that a lot of people don’t like outsold To pimp a butterfly. An album that many people regard as the greatest of all time. When it comes to numbers. No one other than Mr Marshall, who holds the number one spot, no artist is touching Mr Aubrey when it comes to numbers. It’s just a fact. Everywhere throughout the last decade, if you go to parks, school events, graduations, the artist’s music that gets played the most is mr Aubrey. His relevance in hip hop and the impact that he created is unmatched through out the last decade. I know Mr Kendrick was highly influential throughout the last decade. But let’s not sit here and act like Mr Aubrey was not as well. Despite people’s differing opinions towards him as an artist and not liking his music. He is the biggest selling hip hop artist of all time. And still is. His hard work and grind made him the number 2 best selling hip hop artist of all time. He has so many classics in his discography. And his hard work and grind still is making him accomplish more high achievements, despite the hate that he is receiving because of his beef with Mr Kendrick.

This argument about sales is getting very overblown. If all the highschoolers go and bump his album doesn't make it better quality than anything else. Yes it's impressive to have album sales comparable to Eminem, but it means absolutely nothing to the quality of the music

Extremely weak argument 6ix9ine had more commotion and numbers than Griselda mick Jenkins Denzel curry and saba combined in 2018 almost by consensus his music wasn't better. Numbers require you to have industry pushing and marketbalility sometimes those things are out of your control

I was surprisingly close to your list. I have views at 6 with Thank Me Later and IYRTITL at 4 and 5. I’ve been contemplating on doing a revisit with views because I can’t seem to get on board with putting it higher in my list. NWTS Views Take Care i dont follow Drake like that, but i like the loosey songs. "5am In Toronto", "Club Paradise", "DUppy Freestyle", & "Paris Morton Music". i stopped paying attention after Scorpion lol. i low key dont like the direction he is currently going with "HOnestly Nevermind" and the next projects that dropped afterwards. i rock with the Conductor WIlliams track "8am in Charlotte" and ALC's "Wick Man"

On the question of "is there an album that you love" or rock with from Drake, the answer is "no" from me. Allegations of PDF aside, I have always felt about Drake very similarly to how Kendrick portrayed him on Not Like Us. I really enjoyed some of his early music before Take Care. I have songs that I really like, like Over etc. I've always though Drake could really spit when he wanted to. I wasn't a big fan of the singing, because I didn't find him to be that great of a singer, but I liked the sound that he and 40 created with the auto tune. My thing with Drake was that very early on, I didn't believe him. He felt like he was acting to me. He started appearing on everyone's records and he sounded like a different person depending on who's company he was keeping. It made him feel really disingenuous to me, and I felt like I couldn't trust what he was saying which turned me all the way off as a fan of a hip-hop artist. I know that not everything we spit is 100% true to life, but it felt like he was trying to play whatever character would make him "fit" the environment. He felt snake-ish to me. I couldn't tell what he stood for, or stood on. Later in his career, this trait became more and more pronounced in his music and people started calling him a biter, or a culture vulture. I used to be a KZbinr and had a vlog rant about it back in the early 2010's. I respected his talent, but couldn't rock with him as an artist.

Views, CLB, and Scorpion are all classics IF the amount of songs were shorter and those filler songs are removed. like Rob said if I were to switch up the tracklisting on those albums and remove the filler or lesser songs, those albums are all classic Drake albums

Man dj akademics seems to have shifted the conversations about music from focusing on the art to treating it like sports betting. His obsession with sales is annoying af. Some of the best albums, movies, etc did not sell well when they first came out.

Exactly, the supermario brothers movie was a top grossing movie last year, doesn't mean it wasn't trash (I didn't see it so idk lol), but we all know it did well because it was marketed a lot and every little kid went to see it. Similarly, if we admit it or not, almost every teenager listens to drake's easily digestible music and the numbers are obviously high as a result. Doesn't mean anything about the quality.

Or madvillany by Doom and Maldib did no numbers but Doom is considered a goat and has one of the best ever

Yeah of course it applies across the board. Drake is just a great example to me of hype and accessibility overshadowing quality. One of my favorite mixtapes ever is Stolen Youth LP by vince staples, but it was barely marketed and a lot of his fans don't even know it exists lol.

1 iyrtitl 2 views 3 dark lane demo tapes 4 wattba 5 thank me later my top 4 is purely based off what i generally go back to consistently to listen top to bottom. i had to include thank me later at 5 bc that was the record that pulled me into his world. i was tuned in to drake since so far gone but ill never forget getting ahold of my older bro's ipod in middle school & jamming out to thank me later on a daily basis. that record certified me as a drake fan. i feel that from more life on, drake was chasing streams & saturated his discography with material that maybe should have been left off, imo. if drake would have trimmed his albums to 10-12 records i believe that i would feel differently on a lot of his projects from the past 7 years. since then i would listen thru his records once & pull 4 to 6 songs that i would throw in playlists. i really feel that quantity over quality was a big downfall for me personally but ill never deny his consistency in giving the fans hit after hit songs since hes been in the mainstream. s/o rob man for building a community for ppl to really talk music. these comment sections on your videos have been a breathe of fresh air from all the extremist takes i see on various social media platforms so salute brother 🫡 thank u for providing a space that really keeps the main thing the main thing!

@@RobMarkman I have Honestly as high because I think he tried something new and executed it well. We were all critical of who he did/didn't involve to really drive it home, but it still worked well. Scorpion and CLB lacking the serious editing they needed hurt a lot.
