Those were all good choices, but I would add Second Opinion. When Carmela visits the Physiatrist, and he is the voice of morality, that said it all.

You've got some good picks for sure but Funhouse has been my all time favorite for some time. It started out as Pine Barrens (like everyone else) but when I became an adult and rewatched the series a few times Funhouse really hit me on a profound level. The bookending of the episode with Thru and Thru is, of course brilliant, and itself is kind of a book end to Season 2's opening scene. The dream sequence is one of the best with lots to unpack and how it relates to the food poisoning and if it was just Tony's subconscious torturing him. However the scene to me that really sticks out the most if when Tony first develops the food poisoning. He says he's never felt so depressed and anxious in his life which (from someone who's dealt with those issues) is actually extremely accurate. You can easily mix those feeling up in your head and they can compound with one another. Then there was the way Carmela reacts to it. Despite the shitty way the two treat each other at times, her first response is to comfort him. Later Tony tries to pretend that he's feeling much better than he actually is (you can say its pride but I think it is because he doesn't want Carmela to worry about him). Through it all the two of them love each other and were meant for one another.

Difficult to choose just one episode, but Paulie walnuts "Who's Ramon" and Mikey Palmice talking about the tailor's grandson's death may be my favorite scenes. Anyway, 4 dollars a pound.

"College" was the absolute defining episode of The Sopranos which set the tone for the entire series but my personal favorite has got to be "Pine Barrens", "The hustle never ends!" LOL

How bout this humidity? Funhouse was when I knew I was got, ridiculously good. Too many to choose a one.

You said College, Toodle fucking ooo, and Whoever did This on your TS appearance. Curious to see if this has changed! 😅 Mine was and always has been Join the Club. It also happens to be the only episode I watched right as it aired “live” (we didn’t have HBO back then). My jaw hit the floor at the ending. It still gets me emotional.

I know some people feel as if the episodes including dream sequences are a set back, but I've always appreciated them the most. Who wouldn't want a direct look into the subconscious of our favorite characters? It's a great mother-jumping concept, Sopranos Blueprint!

You refer to episodes as " comfort episodes " and for me, the whole show just feels that way Mafia stuff aside, I think anyone that grew up in an old school Italian American family will get a major nostalgia trip from any Sopranos episode at one point or another, especially anytime Sil, Paulie, Tony, Chris, Patsy, etc are talking or the wives are together gossiping, it's like being at Christmas dinner listening to your Uncles and Aunts talk

Nice choices Lady Shylock! I’m afraid I tried but just can’t do it 😂😂😂 I couldn’t find a reason not to choose an episode as they are all essential to me, fun hearing other peoples episodes and reasons though 🤓🥩🥂
@James_Price795 ай бұрын
I think because I cycle through the show continuously as well makes it harder to choose, because I don’t watch episodes randomly, always in order so to me it is all 1 huge episode 🤓 In terms of comments and joking around the show I do find seasons 5 and 6 to be the most fun for that 🥩🥂

The talking Big Pussy fish is something I'll never un-see. On a later viewing, I put together the singing fish wall plaque as foreshadowing. My other fave is when Tony's in a coma and living Finerty's life. He hears noise from the next hotel room and bangs on the wall. At the same time, Paulie is rattling on like a machine gun while talking to Tony in a coma. 😂 The second half of the Finerty saga is incredibly haunting with the flashing light on the horizon. It's the sacred and the propane.

"Marco Polo" is a personal fav of mine. I wouldn't necessarily argue that it is the best, but the whole Hugh birthday party setpiece is just so soothing and also hilarious IMO, as is the leadup to it. I am also a big fan of "I Dream of Jeannie Cusamano", which might be the most eventful episode of the series, possibly because it might have originally been intended as the series finale (there was an expectation that the series might not get picked up for more than one season).

I love those two episodes, as well!! I’m thinking of making a part two of this because limiting it to 10 eps was really difficult and I knew I’d forget some great ones, like those very two, for example! I love how you put it - soothing - that’s so on point 💯🔥

I think it was Ralph calling out to Tony as a hypocrite (being soo upset that the horse died although he eats beef and sausage by the car load) and phrasing it with the one phycological trigger for Tony was the real reason he attacked Ralph.
@SopranosBlueprint4 ай бұрын
That’s an excellent point!! So very true. And interesting how Christopher brought that up in the very next episode during the intervention (about him having a heart attack by the time he was 50). Very tragic how life imitated art there 😞

Good video. I love the episode when Paulie sees that Psychic, or whatever he was, that saw all his murder victims. Even if he knew who Paulie really was, he never could have come up w/ info like that. And of course long term parking. I think the funniest part about Carmine saying no to whacking Ralphie is that Johnny Sack told him Carmine didn't know who he was, at the same time the manipulator is telling Paulie that Carmine 'asks about him'.

As odd as it is, my favorite scene is when Tony, in a dream, goes to a farmhouse as a workman and the dark silhouette of a woman descends half way down the stairs and stops, continuing staring at Tony. Gives me the creeps, it's so powerful.

Season 3 episode 10: To Save Us All From Satans Power is the best episode in the show. It’s the Christmas episode that ends with Tony and Furio getting into a cab and beating up Janice’ Russian. A lot of color and humor compared to the grayness of later seasons. Plus Tony and Chris’ relationship is at its best before his H addiction and their fall out
