My closet is full of shirts for music groups with names like Moonsorrow, Marduk, Judas Priest, Conan, Alice Cooper, Kanonenfieber and more. Hard rock and metal are genres that generally don't get much attention from Mainstream media so I found it surreal that Eurovision, a music event that 10 out of 9 times pick stagnant pop music as the winner, chose a shock rock band as the winner in 2008 and Måneskin in 2020. It's like if America had a similar competition for the states and Virginia won with Gwar.

Europe is more laid back when it comes to extreme music compared to North America. That's why more metal bands are popular in Europe compared to North America since North America prefers pop and rap artists. Don't get me wrong though, I know there are people in North America that prefer metal over pop and rap (like me), but it's not a lot of people compared to Europe.

In Occidentali's Karma - one of the lines in the chorus is "la scimma nuda balla," which means "the naked ape dances." His song is all about how Westerners live their lives and how at the end of the day we're all humans (aka naked apes). It's super symbolic!! I love that song so much haha

1:09 my understanding of how it was made, strechy fabric as screen(i guess tilted backwards a bit) with stairs and platform behind, projector making the image on the screen( notice sharp shaddows from arm, and a glow around his body to make his position a bit forgiving), the tilt is most likely done in live edit, tilting one layer over the other, trimming in some way(im not qite sure how, it looks kinda like the alpha channel around the edges but no transparancy in the centre) (note how the reflection on the floor mowes wit the tilt and the reflction disapear at the right. also note gradient around the top)

The tilt is literally just the camera tilting with some greenscreen type masking. Also yes, it's a flexible screen. In some of the videos form rehearsals you can see it from another perspective.

Fun fact about Leto Svet: the people singing it aren't singers by profession. In fact, most of them are rather famous comedians. As you might infer, that song wasn't a serious entry into the (Estonian) contest. I don't think anyone expected it to win the contest and thus make it into the actual Eurovision but it happened XD

Conchita Wurst is his drag persona, it's like playing a role.
