I’m gonna remember it as one of the best ESC editions ever. Not only because my country won for the first time in the 21st century, not only because of the fame and love Måneskin are getting, but because everything was just so good about this year, the Netherlands did such a terrific job. The songs, the hosts, the show, the feeling of “rebirth” after all the world went through last year. It was just so special, and I’ll never forget that moment when Måneskin were announced as the winners and the commentators screaming (along with me lol). It was such a magical moment. And I’ll keep it in my heart, that’s for sure❤️

It felt very special for me too. Part of that was having my home country hosting the contest, which made up for the disappointing score Jeangu received. And part of it was the fact that, after missing ESC and everything else for two years, it felt like life begun again. Also, the songs were so good this year! Normally i only really like a few, but this time there were so many great acts i didn’t even care who won. Maneskin was great and they definitely deserved it, but i would have been equally happy had it been Ukraine, Switzerland, France, Iceland, Norway, etc etc. The competition was so strong and yet it never felt like a contest. I mean we got 4th 2018. But I still don't understand why we got last in 2016
@miriam46282 жыл бұрын
@@Isabelle-hv6ny from an outsider's perspective I can say that it had nothing to do with your refugee politics, if anything, quite the opposite since in countries like Italy and Greece people complain about the lack of some immigration laws for the "redistribution" of the immigrants according to certain quotas like, for instance, population. (Italy and Greece are the countries which have an ongoing migration crises, due to overcrowded hotspots). Also, let me clarify that none of the things I stated here reflect any of my political views, I'm just trying to sum up the situation. In any case, I don't think that the poor result that Germany got last year (this year too tbf) had anything to do with a political stance (although one may say that this year's results could have something to do with Germany and its unwillingness to boycott Russia's gas and oil, but that sounds like a reach). So I think that these singers (although they weren't really that bad) just couldn't grab the audience attention. My personal opinion is that a song in German would have probably helped a lot with the results (it would've been refreshing). Also keep in mind that a "overly positive" attitude such as Jendrix's may have been read the wrong way across the various cultures in Europe (we aren't a monolith so maybe it's due to a culture clash - although this is just a speculation about one of the possible reasons so take it with a grain of salt).

what did he do? :O
@Kasagaery2 жыл бұрын
@@kirasgirl many things, but what I caught is that 1) he makes it all about himself & on interviews he was the one talking all the time, 2) he never actually did a winning performance, although he still thinks he knows the perfect formula, 3) following the previous, he completely reshapes the performer and makes them loose their spark, making same old crap but with different ppl, 4) if performer didn't win, he just abandons them and moves on, 5) some sketchy talk about buying votes, 6) he harassed women. Quite a list tbh 😂

@@katezitmane8453 Latvia's performance was the most underrated! I really liked it, trippy and unique, one of my favorites this year. It was quite sad to learn it scored last from all the countries, but I still think it's amazing. Greetings from Lithuania :)

this is why no eurovision will beat this one for me because they put old winners in and it was so different then just only the song contest. they showed so much more than just only the songs. and it was so funny and mostly talented
