I met George Sr. once at a restaurant in Marshall, TX and couldn't control myself...I just stopped by his table and said, "HI Mr. Foreman. I'm a huge fan. Enjoy your meal.", and started to walk away. He called me back to the table, introduced himself, asked my name, and shook my hand. He immediately became my favorite celebrity because of his graciousness. I think we, the audience don't need it, but felt like he had it more so as a "cover my ass" kinda thing. The days of cancel culture and wokeism is such a pain. I've been laughing at "racist/stereotype" jokes since I was a kid. But not once have I ever gotten offended or gone to other people and be racial or rude. Jokes are jokes, and comedians shouldn't be condemned or have to play on on edge for making them

According to Google, this is the definition of Lettuce Trim. - A lettuce trim is a frilled hem invented by Stephen Burrows. The hem was popular in the disco era for how it added movement to a garment. A knit shawl featuring a lettuce trim.

Id never heard of either phrase to be honest. The clothing one makes more sense imo.

My George Foreman grill, which I got back in the day when they were new, is still a family fav. I still make freaking grilled cheese sandwiches on that thing! Love this story.

Damn George is super cool. I really respect his view on sportsmanship. I haven’t really articulated why big MMA fights sometimes make me uneasy but he words it so plainly.

Thank God for Tosh on Tuesdays. Gives me something to look forward to during this capitalistic hellscape workplace cubicle. Also lettuce trim is a totally normal, decades and decades of usage clothing descriptor, Daniel. Pervs co-opted the term, not the other way around! There are lettuce trim tops and bottoms, right along with socks. Its a squiggly hem basically.
