I think we, the audience don't need it, but felt like he had it more so as a "cover my ass" kinda thing. The days of cancel culture and wokeism is such a pain. I've been laughing at "racist/stereotype" jokes since I was a kid. But not once have I ever gotten offended or gone to other people and be racial or rude. I met George Sr. once at a restaurant in Marshall, TX and couldn't control myself...I just stopped by his table and said, "HI Mr. Foreman. I'm a huge fan. Enjoy your meal.", and started to walk away. He called me back to the table, introduced himself, asked my name, and shook my hand. He immediately became my favorite celebrity because of his graciousness. George III seems to be the same type of man.
