It is SO wonderful to find someone who has similar hair to mine! Thank you for your recommendations. They’ve helped me make sense of my 2a wavy hair. Do you have any suggestions for a blow dry protectant that doesn’t weigh your hair down? The ends of my fine hair split very easily, so I haven’t been able to use a diffuser at all. The one time I did use one at the beginning of my curly journey, on the low setting, I had about a thousand split ends. But if I could find a good heat protectant that won’t destroy my waves, I might be able to start doing it and not have to air dry my hair every time. Thanks!

I have not really looked into this so I don't have one. I know the EVOLVh leave in conditioners offer heat protection and I have heard argan oil does this as well, so you can add a drop to your ends then diffuse. I don't know how well that works though.

I’m wondering if you have any recs for growing your hair? Your length looks beautiful and so healthy I would love to get mine there (also fine and curly) also, do you comb your hair? Still trying to figure out the best way to go about detangling

Doing daily massages helps speed up growth. Make sure you do protein treatments to help strengthen your hair. I never comb, but if I had to I'd use a wet brush only to detangle when conditioning.

I love your insights! It’s hard finding products that give me good results as my hair has the same density, porosity and is very fine BUT it’s more 2a-2b. Everything seems to weight it down and after scrunching I end up with looose waves and flat hair on top :( I really struggle with curl enhancement, hold and frizz, which products would you recommend?

For curl enhancement look for an enhancing serum like Uncle Funky's Magic Curls Simulator or MopTop Custard. Then layer a hard hold gel over it like Giovanni LA Hold or Raw Curls Firm Hold Gel. Also, use very little product. I use about a dime size of curl simulator and a nickel size of gel. If you watch some of my styling routine videos you can see the amounts I use to get an idea.

Do you use any oil? My stylist recommended Unite U oil but it has non water soluble silicone in it. I am looking to control frizz and add shine .

I recently tried the Rose Hair Elixir from The Innate Life as a finishing oil to scrunch out the crunch. I really like it and that it adds some shine and definition. There's also the Wonderbalm from EVOLVh which is oil and silicone free and works the same. That one I have used and love.

I also have very fine hair. Since ive started using leave in conditioner (lightweight) my curls seem to be more wavy. I think it’s too much moisture! Do you think I can just use a moisturising gel rather than a curl cream/leave in conditioner and a gel?

Absolutely! I don't use leave or curl cream anymore and it's perfect!

I've seen in your other videos that you said you didn't care for the Evolvh smart curl so you use their ultrashine, but in this video you say you like the smart curl. Is there much difference between the lines?

Yeah, at first I liked UltraShine better but after going through full bottles of each I notice better results when I use SmartCurl. They both feel the same as I use them but my hair looks better with the SmartCurl. I'm not sure what the difference is though. SmartCurl is supposed to be more hydrating and while I don't really feel it that must be why my hair looks better with it.
