An author I’ve never heard talking about and that I think is quite underrated is Cecilia Grant. She only wrote the Blackshear saga but I loved it.

You've mentioned that you like Johanna Lindsey. Have you ever read Defy Not The Heart? It's one of her older titles. It's also really hard to find. I happened across it at a half price books recently. It had a good storyline with an extremely intelligent heroine. I hope you get to enjoy it someday.

My favorite underrated author is Patricia Grasso. She has a generational series about a family of witches. It starts in the Elizabethan era and continues through the Victorian era.

I have some of these books on my shelf, and I think most are already on my TBR list. Historical romance is my favorite genre. I’ve heard you say that you aren’t really interested in classic historical, but I would like to recommend one Georgette Heyer book that I really think you would like. It’s titled The Aim of a Lady. I’ve heard your responses about certain tropes, and I think this one is meant for you. The heroine accidentally shoots an arrow into the hero’s backside. And then has to nurse him. Try it.

Love Georgette Hyer. If I see her name, I grab the book. NO REVIEW, NO SYNOPSIS, NO TITLE, NO PERUSE. GRAB & GO. She's the REGENCY QUEEN, GODDESS AND EMPRESS in one. Lol. Thanks for another REVIEW ROMP. I took a screenshot of your list to hunt & STEAL (kidding) later.💒🕯😍

Yes, Vivienne Lorret and Shana Galen are so underrated! I'd say the same about Elisa Braden, Grace Callaway, Caroline Linden, and Mia Vincy. Elizabeth Hoyt, Lorraine Heath, Julie Anne Long, and Joanna Shupe are pretty popular, but not nearly as popular as they deserve to be given how wonderful their books are.

Also author: CHRISTI CALDWELL. Writes such wonderful historical romances.

I’m reading it now and I like it a lot but I’m a bit perturbed at how insistent he is that he could not possibly marry her. I have a feeling that resistance is tied to his feelings of guilt over his being with a mistress when his father was on his death bed asking for him.

I've read all these books by these authors; all of them are on my auto-buy list. Third Son's a Charm is part of a series about younger sons, not expected to inherit a title (spoiler alert: except 1) who serve in the Nepolionic Wars, then come home and have to create lives for themselves. Their commander, who is a duke, and comes home to a messy family situation himself, finds a cause for them to embrace after his situation is delt with.

My recommendation: the 1797 Club by Jess Michaels! 12 young men who will inherit dukedoms; the first three meet at school (Eton) and form a group to have each other's backs after one is attacked. Subsequent heirs who attend are invited into it because_ who wouldn't want to best future dukes. I actually bought the 4th one first and had to hold off until I got the first 3. Fabulous series. Another one she did years ago was about 3 brothers who wouldn't recieve their inheritance from their guardian unless they married. So they make a pact to marry the most inappropriate women they could find. 😂
