Hi Ms. E, I love your stories so much, they always make me think of days gone by. When I was about 8 or 9, my brother wanted to borrow some money from me, (we each had a small allowance, I saved mine, he spent his, lol) , and I said o.k. I lent him maybe two dollars. Well he never would pay me back like he said he would so I stole his Sunday shoes. ( we each had two pairs of shoes, one for Sunday and one for school) Fine he said, until .....Sunday came and we got ready for church and of course he only had his school shoes to wear. My mom saw that he had on school shoes and asked him to go and put on his Sunday ones. (Ha, Ha), he couldn't he said. Mom said why not? He said Cissy wont give me back my shoes. Then of course the story came out. Mom said if I would let him have his shoes back she would give me the two dollars and take it out of his allowance. I did and we went to church properly "shoed", lol. I love your journal!!! Thanks so much for all you do for all of us...the best stories too. Blessings to you and yours.

Love those papers. So feminine and pretty. My brother and I would go dumpster diving. We found lots of cool stuff ... once found an old radio and an old clock. Took them home and our mom made them work again. Mom sat the radio on our dining room buffet and hung the clock on our wall. My brother and I felt sooo proud. I enjoy the stories. Keep them coming!

Love this journal and the colors and papers. My older sister and i would climb in the trees in my grandparents' front yard. My grandma would tell us yes, we could climb in them, but my grandpa always said no. He came home from work early while we were in one of the trees trying to hide so he wouldn't see us, so we didn't get into trouble. Nope, he knew. He hopped out of his truck, grabbed a switch that he took off the tree, and started yelling at us to get out of the tree while spanking us with it. I jumped immediately, and my sister was hanging from a branch while being swatted with the switch. He kept telling her to get out of the tree, and she said she couldn't while he was whipping her...i got hit 2 times, and i think she got hit about 7 or 8. They have since both passed, but we laugh about that all the time. I told her i jumped quickly bc I would've rather broke my arm than to be whipped that many times. 😂😂

Your stories remind me of my two sisters and brother. We the girls would go up the evergreen trees by our house ...way up to the top. Our brother would follow us and get mad because he couldn't get down. Mom said you got up there figure it out and get down. We laughter at him..good thing we didn't get in trouble. 🤣 We didn't have a lot either. Mom had a garden ..we loved it. Life like that taught us how to be happy with a little. Life was good though. Your story brought back such a funny memory for me, My sister was always stealing change from my Dad's pants pockets when they were still sleeping! It was so funny, she would crawl into the room and try to drag his pants out without waking them up! It was hilarious! Thanks so much for the crafty chat!

I love hearing your childhood stories, I love to climb trees when I was little, and I even put a small fire cracker in a letter box, my brother and I use to swin on our clothes line as well and go swimming in the hole that was in the creek. 😊 Good childhood fun 😂😂

Beautiful journal. I have most of those papers, so it wouldn’t take much for me to make. I love listening to your stories about your family. My mom passed away in a car accident when I was 14. I am the oldest of 4 siblings. I do not have many memories of my childhood, mostly not so good things, but I love hearing about good, fun things that happened to others. Reminds me that my childhood was not the norm, so I have tried to make great memories for my children and grandchildren. Love you and may God bless you.

Here's a good one. My sister and I sat in little chairs in front of the window in my bedroom with a little tabel to draw on. Well when the crayons got to small we would just drop them in the heat register in the floor. We didn't know what it was or were it went. Well one day my mother was yelling for my dad to get down to the basement, Well since we weren't invited we went to the bathroom and opened the laundry shoot to hear what they were saying, and it sounded like they didn' t have a clue what was going on, so we carried on as normal. Then one day the plumber came so I went to the zoo and my sister climbed the fence to her friends house. Well after being gone for about 5hrs we thought things had blown over, boy were we wrong. The crime had been traced back to our creative work space and we actually didn't know where the melted crayons was running. Needless to say we scrapped melted crayon off the washer & dryer after church on Sunday's. There is a life lesson in there somewhere but it escapes me now. Big Hugs Sandie from Texas.

Oh, Edith, I just love your stories while you're crafting! I love the W journals. I have one kind of similar to yours! My bother was a lot older than me too! He was maybe 16 or 17yrs I had a sister she was 2 yrs younger than him. I was around 4yrs old. But anyway my bother was watching me late afternoon after school was out. My sister was with her friends. Well I was always into everything when I was young! So he tied me up with a belt around me in a little rocking chair that was my Mom's when was little & I still have it! Anyway he didn't like watching me our Mom was at work & our Dad was probably sleeping he work shift work. He was working night shift & we had to be quiet! Ha, so I was kind of whining & wanted loose. But he said I'll make you disappear if you don't keep quiet & stay put! Well I was really good at getting out of things etc. I was loosening the belt & before he saw me I got out of the belt & ran outside he following me right behind me then I went back in the house & my sister was home & she stood right up protected me I think he had the belt that was around me. He was swating me & got her & then she really got mad. Then I think Dad woke up & got mad at all of us! So we calim down & then our Mom came home from work! Then she got all us straighten out I just went & played & my sister had to help with dinner & my brother had to take the garbage out & do his homework! I didn't lived with them to long, my brother went into the Navy after he graduated & then my sister graduated but then she got married. I was 6yrs or 7yrs old when they both left! saw them every couple of years! Then I was spoiled. Being the youngest. I pretty much got what I wanted. My parents were older & people thought I was with my grandparents! But I loved them! That's my story! It's kind of hard to write it. You get to speak yours! I grew up with 4 brothers and our house was crazy too! lol. I was the middle though. You had to be tough to be in that house with all of those boys. I tattled too when I wanted them to get in trouble 😅

I love watching your videos, even the ones with repeated instructions. Here is a story for you. 📗 It's not about me but about my two oldest sisters. I wasn't around yet when it happened but one of them told me later. The oldest Ann, was 17 years older than me and the other Jane, 15 years older. I was the baby. Ann was a "pistol". She was bossy and mean at times. Mamma made her clean out the frig. Taking out the older stuff that was almost past time to eat. She piled it all in a cook pot, we called it the "slop pot", to later take outside to the trash. Jane came into the kitchen and said she was hungry and Ann told her it was stew in the pot. (the slop pot) Jane took a bite and almost threw up. Ann just laughed. Jane told on her but all Mamma did was fuss at her for being mean. Jane told me later Ann laughed at her often about being so gullible. I was #7 out of 7 kids so we have lots of stories. We were raised poor too. Still we were blessed with a good family. Edith i loved your story, when i was a kid my brother used to pick on me too! We lived near a train and the circus would go by us, i always loved to see them, the train cars were open for folks to see the animals. Giraffe and elephants and tigers. anyway my brother would say there going to grab you and put you on the train. He would read books to me and change the characters, but we always loved to laugh at all his voices!!

My sister wasn't born until I was 10 so until then it was my 2 brothers and me, there were no girls in the neighborhood, and the 2 boys next door played with my brothers. Mom would send me with the boys to play and they would try to get rid of me. One time they twisted my arm and made me cry, as I was walking home to tell on them I decided it didn't sound bad enough so I told mom they ripped my arm off but I glued it back on when I was walking home. I was about 5 or 6.

Here is my brother story for you. I have a older brother he was 4 years older and a younger brother he was 6 years younger. When I was 7 years old my brother tied a rope to a tree and put the loose around under my arms and told me to stand on a tire of which he kicked it out from under me. So as I was screaming and swing my Mom walked out on the porch and fainted. I think he wanted to be a only child. I think Mom dropped him on his head as a baby lol.
