That s pro 24-70 is the best Lens I’ve ever owned for any camera. It’s hard to explain to people but I fully agree that it is incredible for video. It is basically a cinema lens with zoom and autofocus. The linear manual focus pulling is wonderful, there’s no focus breathing, parfocal, and it has that unexplainable magic. Lives on my camera for narrative filmmaking with a black glimmerglass filter.

Your video on the Samyang 35-150mm got me good. I'm based in Nigeria and I recently bought the lens, although I got the Rokinon version which I believe is the same. It's been amazing since, great value for money. It's that all round lens that checks all the boxes. I shot some product videos with it and it delivered very sharp images. It’s interesting that you prefer the Sigma wide angle to the Lumix S Pro 16-35. I think it would be really interesting to get a longer video on that topic. I’m sure there’s a lot of folks torn between those two lenses for their go to wide angle lens. Thanks for the content and keep up the great work!

@NickLindner9 күн бұрын
@ totally get it! I think a big thing for the work I do is the LUMIX lens is that it’s weather sealed. But it does also seem a little disappointing to have an S Pro lens only get down to F4. Almost seems more semi-Pro in that regard.

Appreciate this video! I recently purchased the S5IIX and am looking at add a wide angle zoom lens for concerts and festivals. Do you have any recommendations? I see LUMIX has the 18mm but ideally I'd like a zoom lens. Curious if there may be some options with an adapter? Also! I recently was shooting at a festival with dual slot recording on brand new Sandisk Extreme PRO SD cards and they both malfunctioned. Do you have any idea why this might have happened? The only thing I can think of is maybe I accidentally only formatted one instead of both... One went out quickly followed by the other & I lost all the footage. Your videos have been so helpful in my journey, I really value your channel!

The SIGMA 16-28mm f2.8 might be the one or the SIGMA 28-45mm f1.8 might be good for your case. Sandisk cards have problems right now I've had one fail on me. Luckily wasn't super important but yeah. I recommend ProGrade cards now. I won't be buying anymore Sandisk

I just decided to sell my Sigma 28-70 and am going to go with Lumix 18mm 50mm and 24-105. I don't like primes that much but I'm going to challenge myself to use them while also getting that buttery smooth stabilization from the 24-105. My other option was sigma 16-28 + 24-70 ii. But after watching this, if I don't like the 24-105 + primes I might just sell em and get the 24-70 s pro. great video.

The 24-105mm is underrated. It was the first lens I ever used actually and it's great and has great flexibility including macro at 105mm (or half macro can't remember) I just don't own it it was with the rental back in the day

Hey Dustin! Thanks a lot for your video! I have the same strategy - try before you buy. And I was so hyped for Samyang 35-150 and found a major flaw, at least for me. There was no posiibility to use af/mf function to show where it should focus. Does your one have the same issue?

Awesome video, bro. It's funny that a renown review channel put the 28-200 as one of the worst lenses of 2024, but like you, I think it is amazing. It's not the sharpest lens in the world, but for video sharpness isn't where it's at. The insane range and form factor is second to none, at least for full frame. I'll be keeping mine. I too wish lumix would expand their s pro line. I love my 24-70.

Its not a "headline" lens and it is expensive - but for daily shooters (those of you that get paid to shoot day in day out) as a narrative work horse i could not live without it. For real estate wides on a gimbal and event wandering cameras the s pro 16-35 is sweet. For tele i am all about m43- it just makes so much more sense beyond 200 mm

My first lens was the Sigma 24-70 DG DN Art, touted by everyone on YT as the ultimate all-rounder. Unfortunately, this lens produces a flat, lifeless video look. The two Lumix S-Pro lenses 24-70 and 50 are in a completely different league. The "3D-Pop" is no voodoo, it's the main thing that Sigma can't deliver. Things got even better when I added the Blazar Apex and Dulens APO Mini Prime Lens to my kit. ** Never use photo lenses for video. Sigma, for example, can degrade even the best camera to the level of a bad smartphone. ** Great for hobby photographers and beginners, but a poor choice for those with high standards in motion picture quality.
