Hi Laura, I really do understand, my husband has been very ill for almost our entire marriage, we just had our 21st anniversary last June. He was gone in a nursing home for almost 4yrs, I've only had him back for oneyr now... And he was on hospice for the last 7months! He's off but it's touch and go. My mouth literally fell open when you said that someone commented "why bother you're old!".... One day that person will be "old" too! No one has to give up just because someone else thinks they're old! What young people don't know is that older people don't feel old...they still feel young in their head! Your videos are beautiful, just like you. Your videos are inspirational, encouraging, helpful, empowering and full of warmth & wisdom. I "found" your channel years ago after Patti-rxstrmom mentioned you. I haven't stuck around all this time because you do masterful makeup tutorials or education on skin care ingredients. I can watch that on countless other YT channels. I stuck around because you share parts of yourself and your life and, especially these last few years, so many of us are desparate for that kind of connection, even if its virtual. For many of us, watching you is part of our social lives. Maybe we've lost many people in our "real" lives, maybe we're isolated due to illness, or maybe it's just a sign of the times that we' just don't have as much face-to-face interaction as in our younger years. Hi Susan I'm also 68 years old and I do my own thing and could care less what others may think!! I still turn my rock music up loud in my car and sing along. I love unicorns and bought a stuffed one and lay it on my bed and giggle at how child like I can be!! I have a unicorn hanging on my rear view mirror and cars next to me at a stop light comment how adorable it is! Lol. I love makeup. Hair; thrift shopping; decorating my small home; volunteering at food pantry each week; having lunch each week with 5 single friends. I survived hurricane Ian and live in Southwest area and it destroyed my roof and tore down all my trees!! I told my friends " Let's make our homes better than before the hurricane hit us!!" I put my Christmas tree up in late October and put lots of outdoor lights up because I'm Soo grateful I still have a home!! My neighbors across the street weren't as lucky as their homes are gone!! Yes it's great to be alive and to celebrate another Christmas. Thanks for you!!

I seldom go out. I’m 72. I didn’t sleep well the night before. I was supposed to go to lunch but canceled. I sat there for the first time in decades and played with my makeup. I was shocked. It looked so good I just might do it again.

Hi Susan! I’ve been watching for quite a long time now. This is my first time to comment. I have a quiet house right now to do so. I lay my iPhone beside me and find a video where I know you’re doing a lot of talking to convey some concepts. I do this at night in bed to relax me and also makes me feel a feeling of possibilities before I go to sleep.Your voice is so reassuring, uplifting,has notes of elegance in it, and sophistication and fintelligence. There’s a feeling of beauty and magic that runs through your filming and your voice, actually. That feeling of magic is harder to describe… You create a feeling of fantasy, fantasy that can actually come true, when you film and when you speak. Your voice is womanly and carries with it a femininity that has a lot of depth of character with the humor that seeps through with the depth of how you see reality with so many shades to it…Not just stark reality! I would not call this a little voice!! As you always say, “I will stop now.“ I do watch your videos, it is just that I only listen to your voice at night when I am ready to go to sleep.

I once had a teenager tell me women my age shouldn't wear eyeliner. I told her I've been wearing eyeliner since she was pooping in her pants so what makes her think she can tell me what I should or shouldn't wear? I am 70 and I wear makeup every single day, even when I am not going anywhere. I tell my son that the day I don't wear makeup will be a sign of serious illness...or death. I use Mary Kay retractable brown precision eye liner pencil - it stays on all day without transferring anywhere. The older I get, the lighter (I mean intensity of colours) makeup I use, except for special evening occasions. Have a beautiful week, Susan!

I have tell you how much I miss putting on my makeup. I'm 65 retired and for some terrible reason I have gotten chalazions on both my eyes. I have tried everything to get rid of them. I'm going to opthamologist in two days to get rid of them. Everyday I would put my makeup on before I would leave the house it made me feel so good. I always loved makeup I guess it made me feel feminine. I love watching your channel and the way you decorate your apartment. God bless have a beautiful day.

I love your voice. I'm told I speak too loudly and am unfiltered by my family when I express an opinion. I'm suppose to be all happy and and unopinunated. You inspire me. I lost my nursing administrative job several Years ago...then lost my sense of self worth. Still struggle at times especially with health problems. I love your channel and little Desi. Hey Susan. I love your new haircut. It's very flattering, funky and youthful. Dare I say... sassy? I love your idea of adding rosehip seed oil to foundation. I often mix primer with my foundation (because I'm lazy) but I love the idea of mixing in the oil. I'm gonna try it tomorrow. I use the Fit Me brand too. You are one very cool and pretty lady. Very frankly at one month from reaching my 75th year on this earth I have no desire to start over. It’s not always been easy but it was what it was and now is my moments to reflect “and keep going forward”. I find inspiration in your videos. Im 64 and would never ever leave my house without makeup LOL! It takes years off my face and I feel good about myself and it makes me happy. Those mean comments are mostly from negative unhappy people. I love your positive vibes and every video you make leaves a message that inspires and lifts us up to keep moving forward. Susan, I have a childlike voice and it can be a great thing to have. When you are talking to someone on the phone, that doesn’t know you, they will think that you are 16 years old! I own some of those expensive pallets. I've used them once. The others, never. I use my cheaper pallet the most. It's not what it cost, it's what you do with it. You're lovely no matter your makeup. Why do some women think that age has anything to do with keeping oneself looking the best you can. It's work, but it feels good when someone says how good you look and it feels good to look in the mirror and not see your grandmother looking back. Today's mature woman is not yesterday's. Things have changed. I'm 69 on Monday. I'll never stop working at it. It's worth it to me. Love your channel. Keep up the good work.
