I took a deep dive into brushes this year! You have some excellent recommendations here. For synthetics I really like the BK beauty 202, A504, A502 and the 101 for foundation and 106 for cream blush or hard pressed blushes. I really like the Rephr 13, 14, 02, 23, 01 and the 04 angled face brush for blush. Houkodou GC-7 or Chikuhodo F04 (bigger) has a similar natural hair brush that is softer and I like more for softer powders. For an all over dusting of powder my favorite is the Hakuhodo G509. It so luxurious and beautiful. For buffing powder foundation or at the end of makeup Sonia G Smooth Buffer or Hakuhodo G6423. Bronzer favs are the G5542 or B6413 by Hakuhodo the Jumbo Bronzer or Niji Pro by Sonia G or a great multitasker by Hakuhodo the G502 or G501 (denser version), for a fan brush I love the Rephr 20 or Hakuhodo F1342, I use my Sonia g fusion series non stop for cream products. I also love the Hakuhodo J210 for hard pressed blushes, Sonia G soft cheek for soft pressed blush. For targeted applications of powder I like the Wayne Goss Airbrush, the Sonia G mini cheek, designer and detail pro as well as the Hakuhodo G5521. I love Hakuhodo J142/146 Sigma E27, E65, E42, E33. Sonia G Pro series and sky set brushes. Chikuhodo GSN 9 is my fav for soft shimmers, Chikuhodo F08 for liner. Chikuhodo Z10 or Koyudo KSZ-05 for under eye shadow. Houkodou GS 5 and Rephr 21 for cream shadow. A surprise favor for under eye powder is the Yano 06 brush from Beautylish. I could go on and on! So many beautiful brushes and I’m so grateful to all of those who shared their favs so I could gather up these beautiful brushes!

I also love Chanel’s Kabuki brush, and the blender/shader eyeshadow brush. One of my all time favorite foundation brush is the full coverage face brush by Bobbi Brown. I do take turns with my K-beauty brushes and 3CE has a nice brush set that has a variety of brushes in a nice bundle, pretty in pink. It was great to see your recommendations and all those familiar brushes I have seen in your videos, Angela. ❤🥰Thank you for sharing as always! I got the Cle de peau foundation brush per your recommendation. It’s really really nice. I then got their concealer brush as well which is flat but again really soft. I wash my brushes at least weekly as well. I recently learned a tip from a sales associate at my local beauty store; using Uriage oil based body wash to wash makeup brushes. It works great! 😘

I also got Cle de Peau foundation brush on Angela’s recommendation and it absolutely changed foundation application for me. Now I’m on a fence if I should get concealer brush too. Both Sephora brush 71 and BK Beauty concealer brush that Angela mentioned here have a similar shape. So hard to decide which one to choose without seeing it in person! My standards are now high (after foundation brush) - need a game changer in concealer application 😊

@@ireneshelley Shiseido has a concealer brush that I also like which is quite small and dome shaped, another option you might want to look into. But yes, hard to decide without seeing.

Hi Dora, that's such a great tip. I sometimes use a little bioderma micellar water on my foundation brushes before washing them. It helps to remove foundation buildup very easily (especially with long wearing foundations). xoxo

Hi Carol Ann :) Thank you so much for watching my videos. I clean them with a mild soap and warm water (not too hot). For foundation brushes I sometimes use a little micellar water before washing them with soap because it helps to dissolve the makeup very easy. If you don't wash the brushes often you can try some of the dedicated shampoos/soaps for brushes. Rephr have some and Sigma have too. But I use just regular soap because I find it works equally well. Then place them on a towel and let them air dry. Don't place them close to a heater and don't use hair dryer on makeup brushes because this is what ruins them faster. xoxo

My fav are: Face Surratt: Cheek brush, Sculpting brush Sonia G: Buffer pro and Detail Pro Eyes: Hourglass brushes (vegan bristles) - very soft and high quality Wish list :) : I plan to buy Sonia G Sky set when they will be available on Beautylish. I’m tempting to buy Cle de Peau foundation brush but this brand is not available in Australia and all the sites you recommended don’t ship (brushes or makeup/skincare from Cle de Peau) to Australia. :( I also plan to buy Chanel travel eye brushes. Hi Angela, I wanted to ask you if your favorite Clé de Peau Beauté High Coverage Foundation Brush does thick coverage? I am a bit scared to have my face looking like a mask. Also wanted to ask if you have Rephr POwder brush nr. 30 and if you do, what do you think about it? Thanks

Hi Inga :) Cle de peau's brush doesn't change the amount of coverage. It just applies the foundation evenly. The amount of coverage that you get on the face will depend of the type of the foundation that you use and on the amount of the foundation that you apply. If you are using a light coverage foundation it will not look heavy. Unfortunately I haven't tried brush n. 30 by Rephr so I can't comment on the performance. xoxo

How do you clean your brushes?

I use gentle soap and water. I wash them often so it's very easy to clean them. If you don't wash them that often then I would recommend using a dedicated soap for brushes. Rephr have one and Sigma have brush cleansers too. They are good. xoxo
