Kati Mayfield, your comment made me pull over to the side of the road, put it in park, and cry- not to mention rewinding and listening to Georgia say it over and over about 15 times. You put it perfectly into words. We know it can be done, because she has already shown us what is possible. We exist. We persist. We resist.

Hey Momma! Just wanted to send a lil love! You know here you can count on this spectacular network of MFM supporters who have always stretched world wide. I hope during the wave of emotions you remember; we're your semi silent strength when you're in need. Though it may not be from the same causes and the exact experience is obviously different. . . Most of us here can relate to the feeling of sabotage from our bodies, OR a sudden obstacle of our mental and physical/ physiological association (affecting the communication) also leaving to the feeling lack of control. No judgements, murd3r*nos got your back. You got this!!! 💪🏽 BTW congratulations!!! 💖 Sending love from TX😁

I'm so excited to see you on KZbin!!! I think we all fell like we didn't do enough. For me, I genuinely did not think there was a single chance the orange guy could ever be put back in office. It's been beyond disheartening and shocking. I saw a chart suggesting the topics Republicans were concerned about were totally different than the topics democrats were concerned about and that's why he won. It wasn't necessarily about him... it made me feel a smidge better... but not really... I think we'll get through this though ❤

As a mom i try to be at least remotely mature about things but ngl it brings me joy to flip the bird at any house still displaying trump signs (we live in PA). My kids also get in on the fun. Mom of the year? No. Mom whose kids feel safe to be imperfect, sometimes petty, and willing to laugh when things are hard? Always. Because fuck everyone who voted against my daughters health, safe spaces for lgbtqia+, immigrants, and general democracy. Until we figure out a concrete way to fight back, we're surviving one middle finger at a time.

I miss you guys so much! I started listening at about episode 15 and was instantly in love. This popped up & I tuned in only to have to disconnect almost immediately. I started listening because you were so funny & smart & took my mind off my troubles, but then during Covid...I was following the front line doctors & hearing about actual hope for treatments- and you guys were HEAVY into the official Covid response. The selfie of Georgia at the beach in a mask broke my heart. Every week you got more & more into political discussion, and it was OK because I could just skip the conversation at the beginning (something I NEVER would have thought I'd want to do) but eventually it was unavoidable. I had to give up a number of my favorite podcasts this way. The things that used to help me escape now brought politics right in my face every minute. The covid thing was the worst, though. Continuing to stoke fear & promote the completely insane government mandates. Calling your loyal fans crazy, stupid, or selfish if they knew better than to take the shot. I AM really glad to see you are both with us, though, and not yet casualties of the shot you so heavily promoted. Love & miss you. I'll always treasure going back & listening to those early seasons.

Can I ask why it broke your heart to see Georgia wearing a mask? What about that upsets anybody? I can't imagine if I got someone sick bc I refused to wear a mask and I wasn't aware I was contagious... It's such a small sacrifice to add even a small barrier of protection. I have seen other people say that the mask was for the person wearing it, to keep them from getting infected but It was more like the individual person that was wearing the mask was using the same concept of covering your mouth and nose when you sneeze. Maybe this many years later it's not even worth getting into or anything but it's always been very confusing to me why this is such an upsetting thing for people.
@jenniferterry6775
@jenniferterry6775 Ай бұрын
@BRLambert4 I work in health care, so I had to take classes on how best to protect myself while working closely with people at the beginning of Covid when most places were shut down & vaccines were months away. I also read medical journals about the history of mask research and found that cloth & paper masks were equally useless against respiratory viruses indoors and all masks are pointless outdoors. So yeah, the fact that a sweet wonderful woman was either A)so traumatized by the constant fear mongering that she truly felt she was in danger or a danger to others AT A DISTANCE IN THE OPEN AIR or B) doing it out of a feeling of obligation to virtue signal both make me extremely sad.
@jenniferterry6775
@jenniferterry6775 Ай бұрын
@BRLambert4 Thanks for asking. I apologize if this response shows up twice, but I am rewriting it as it disappeared the 1st time... I work in healthcare. I had to work closely with people at the beginning when shots were yet to come. I took a class on how to protect myself with what was known at the time & also did a deep dive on masks. According to all studies, cloth & paper masks offer little protection from respiratory viruses indoors & ZERO outdoors. Yes, these studies all involved flu, not Covid, but as the covid virus is MUCH smaller than flu- it's hardly necessary. So, seeing a sweet, lovely person who was either A) so traumatized by the constant fear mongering that she truly thought she was either in danger or a danger to others outside, in the open air, at a distance...or B) not scared of that bit worried about being harshly judged or canceled for being seen without a mask made me depressed in either case, yeah.

@@jenniferterry6775 I don't know the exact picture you're referring to, and so I'm not sure at what point during the pandemic this picture was posted, but what if her personal feelings/ experience weren't any of the 3 possibilities that you mentioned? Masks, by themselves, were not meant to protect a person from transmitting or receiving the virus all by itself, as we know. The social distancing, hand washing and staying home when you have possibly been infected were to work in tandem with covering your nose and mouth. Of course, outside is a much safer environment than inside when trying to avoid anyone who is contagious, but it's also not harmful to wear it anywhere there are people gathered. I know that personally the mask was very annoying, I forgot it all the time and it fogged up my glasses, but when it became obvious that people were refusing to take even the basic safety measures and were refusing as an act of protest, it became even more of a necessity to combat those who refused to take any of the entire situation seriously. It's most likely that Georgia would wear a mask to be socially conscious of those around her, while keeping herself as safe as she could. I think that having the knowledge that something was as contagious as COVID. I got COVID before the vaccine was available because other people didn't stay home when they were in contact with an infected person. They refused to wear masks and they considered their immune system strong enough to keep them healthy. They were wrong, and since October 2020 I have been unable to smell or taste anything. That's not a big deal compared to those who lost their life, but it is life changing nonetheless. I wish that COVID hadn't become such a divisive and political issue like it did and that people looked out for their neighbors as much as themselves, but I also never shamed anyone. I didn't get the vaccine, bc I wasn't eligible but I also continued to stay home, mask up and follow safety precautions until to we reached herd immunity. I don't know why her wearing a mask would make your opinion that much different of her when she was just trying to do what she thought was best for herself

@@HolographicSkux I don't drink alcohol, and I wouldn't expect them to know who I was, that is just a very outrageous expectation. And I have three dogs, a husband and 3 kids. So when you say "this is how I know" in the future, please consider that assumptions don't equal knowledge. "You must be new here" was an actual observation since this podcast has been very open politically since their first episodes and remained so.

These videos are such a gift. 🥹. The Rewind episodes make me want to give Georgia a whole couch to lounge on though. Also -hear me out- 1. Adopt a studio cat 2. Get an intern who will foster the cat and whose only job is to bring the cat to the studio on recording days. (You can skip step one by hiring a cat-owning intern) Those are my only suggestions: Give Georgia the option to lounge horizontally, and add one cat, please.
