My Favorite New Bronzer? | New YSL and Dior Bronzers | New Givenchy and Suqqu

Love the eyeshadows on you! I think what we are seeing with bronzers is the companies struggling to replace talc and keep a stable formula. We now have a starch plus titanium or zinc oxide, and then the iron oxide pigment, one big recipe for instability in air. Talc was more stable with iron oxide and products lasted years. In addition, the bronzers are not even packaged air tight, so they start oxidizing slowly from the time they are packaged. Do y'all remember those oversized Chanel Les Beiges Highlighting powders from a couple years ago that the US did not get? Tender Pink and Peach. I bought the Pink which was a rather fair beigey pink. This powder is now literally dark browny orange in the pan, and I barely used it. Likewise, we see strange color gradations in the Gucci powder bronzers and now these new ones. Where #2 is more fair than #1, which likely has more titanium/zinc oxide and less iron to make it a lighter shade, but just oxidizes more. So I think the companies are trying to get the non-talc formulas stable for the shade range they want, and the product isn't stable. Add in oils from dipping a dirty brush in, and the powder product goes off color even more. So, in the absence of talc, my take-away to self is, buy the corn starch formula or whatever powder bronzer I plan to use in the current season, and use it right away. No backups for next year. Toss whatever is left at the end of the summer. These powders just don't stay stable for much longer than that.

The YSL bronzers look stunning on you, Jennifer. Number Two is the most natural, but I like Number 4 as well.

Hi Jennifer! I also went with shade 02 buff dune in the YSL. Had purchased 01 light sepia and it was way too light! Will be skipping the new Dior bronzers. Might pick up shade 04 in the regular line. Definitely picking up Terra by TF. Thank you so much for your content! I find it very helpful!

I bought the eyeshadow palette and never thought that anyone else would even notice it! I absolutely love it. I’m interested in the YSL bronzers…but would like to see the very lightest shade. I’m sure that I will check that out and conclude that it’s too warm…and return to the Gucci Bronzer in the lightest shade. I rarely stray from it! Thanks for the thorough video!

Great bronzer comparisons! I also suspected the YSL shades ran a little lighter, so I picked up the YSL bronzer in 04 Warm Sandalwood. I'm medium/tan warm olive undertone, and 04 is perfect for me and can be built up. You are right, the tone on 04 is really pretty. Also love the new SUQQU moisture glaze lipsticks and thinking of picking up more of their lipsticks. Can't wait until the new Dior bronzers come to the U.S. I love warm bronzers, so I can't wait to try them!

I've been feeling that I'm the only one using Givenchy Eye Shadows. I bought a Christmas Edition 9.07 a few years back and was so impressed, I've bought every palette and continue to buy them. I think they are great on mature lids, yet also contain beautiful shades with subtle shifts of colour. The brush that comes with the Palette comes in two pieces and simply slot in together to form a single double ended brush. They haven't come out with such a neutral colour story as this before and looking forward to it coming here. I've never been disappointed with a palette at all. I do own a YSL Bronzer from before this new packaging. I don't know if they've changed the formula much but I find mine to be very finely milled, lovely and silky to apply. I only tend to wear Bronzer if looking too pale in the Winter. I don't find the need to put endless layers over my skin as I prefer a more natural look. I think just having that bronzer on is just like wearing blush and don't feel it necessary that anything else should go over it as it looks lovely as it is.🇦🇺💖👩🏼‍🎨

I’m convinced that when these companies are developing bronzer tones they are using test models that fake tan. Whether by tanning beds or product. Or heck, even natural sun. Why else would bronzers w such a strong orange undertone for almost the ENTIRE range even be happening. Warm doesn’t have to orange, but yet here we are. I wish they would test for shades on models that have very little to no tan on their skin. The best way to test for proper undertones. IMO

I looove the YSL bronzers , i have 2 and 4 as well and they pull more neutral on my Mediterranean olive skin tone , they last all day and very smooth and blurring

I absolutely love the YSL 01 Bronzer. It’s the most natural looking subtle bronzer I’ve ever used. And that is a unicorn experience for me. I usually have to use a “light hand” with bronzers or I look crazy because aim fair/light. I feel like the darker ones would be like any other bronzer I have. The swatch of 01 on my arm looks like nothing, but on my face, it’s fantastic. It does not look like face powder on the face at all if you are fair/light. If you love 02 then it all turned out great, but I think your SA lead you astray about the depth. (But I love Hermes Atlas and I’m a fair/light warm olive) YSL 01 is warmer leaning-not orange more yellow if that makes sense, but not red or cool/neutral. I love Hermes Atlas, like TF Terra, and dislike Gucci 1 because cool/red does nothing for me. So while I think the shade of YSL 01 would not be too light to you at all, but it’s not the tone you like so it’s just as well you didn’t get it. I’ve never tried a Givenchy eye palette, but my first will be this 9.12! I love it. I think I will get a lot of use out of it! I have #2, 3, 5, and 6 of the Suqqu Moisture Glaze lipstick. I LOVE THEM SO MUCH! I know I’ll eventually get most of them. My favorites are 2 and 6.

I have 3 of those Suqqu lipsticks and love them. I have #9, but my fave is #6. They are kind of magic. They don't feather the way Dior Addict does, as long as I don't put on too many layers. But here's the real benefit: they moisturize my lips and heal flakes better than any balm or lip masque I've ever used. In fact, I'm going to phase in backups of the Suqqu to phase out my Dior Lip Glow . Although I really need mahogany and blackberry shades in Suqqu. Fingers crossed. Love that Givenchy eye palette on you. I'm wearing more neutral eye shades myself. I think they showcase a bolder lip better. Plus my head is swimming with all these bright new eye shadow palettes. They just take too much work for a busy day. You look beautiful in this video. Thanks for the reviews!💚

Thank you for reviewing these. I wanted both the ysl and the dior, but now I’m getting neither, haha! The packaging is gorgeous, but I think I locked down my favorite neutral bronzers, and I’m good. Of course there’s TF Terra & the nars powders. I have the lightest neutral fenty bronzer from when I just want a little infrastructure.

I hesitated in buying this Dior bronzer online because I was nervous they would be too warm/orange. We only got them in store a few days ago. I bought 32 today and love it. I think it is something different I can wear it alone as a two in one bronzer blush situation (pale as you maybe paler). I appreciate your review! It definitely let me know these were not what I originally thought they were going to be.

The YSL bronzers run way light. I’m light-med and 2 is too light but 3 is too golden. I wish they were more neutral and a bit more pigmented. The photos online look darker than in person. For reference, I’m MN 45 in Prada foundation. The Dior bronzers are a pass for me. Thanks for the video.

I purchased the deeper coral Dior bronzer at the Dior counter/area at Harrod’s and it’s a great match. I wear Chanel Medium-Deep in powder bronzer which has been discontinued. I tried the light shades and they don’t show up on my B30 skin tone …

Great Jennifer, you find your shades, and it made it easier for me , the only 2 shades left would be 3 and 5 . I need warm bronzer , like Sisley phyto touché , which I would prefer over Dior, but I want matte one….So please advise me if 5 is warm tone or cool.? I definitely going to try to order 3 but some ppl said that 5 even warmer. And with light hand it might would work for summer🤔 Hmm need advise 🙏🙏🙏. Thank you and have a blessed day🙏❤️

YSL01 Bronzer is stunning shade for those with pale and fair complexion, it looks beautiful, very natural and neutral, almost contouring shade. If anyone here is B10 or lighter shades in Chanel foundations - you will Iove it for winter. It looks very pretty on me , not screaming, perfect for everyday makeup and colder months. 02 will work for me for summer but a bit too deep now when I am my usual pale complexion
