I have been watching tons of videos about the s6, s7, iPad pro and air for note-taking, aswell as apps, their features and so on... I'm so glad I still have a year to decide, because I assume there will be a lot of stuff changing in noteshelf and in s-notes for the better. I honestly didn't like the screen of iPads, there's too much friction with the apple pen, the Samsung screen is so much nicer but the app selection is so much worse... I was so glad when I saw your Samsung update video, really made Samsung a way better choice than before...

Hello! As someone who has been using a samsung tablet for note taking since 2014 (back when iPads didn't have pens at all) I highly recommend a Samsung tablet, especially using Samsung note taking apps (I use the S-Notes) that was installed in my tablet since day 1 and it's extremely optimized with all the features that are being added to Samsung Notes and other note taking apps, the S-pen is amazing and held up until now and i prefer the Wacom technology in it way more (also if you wonder, absolutely no latency) The battery was my biggest surprise because it held up extremely well compared to my mom's ipad that she bought the same year (I guess this is common knowledge though) So the prejudice that people have against android tablets doesn't make sense in my experience

I found out by accident, that you can open the new and improved version of Samsung Notes two times aswell. It is so awesome that i can finally rewrite my messy class notes with ease and only need one app to write notes and annotate a pdf simultaneously :)

I'm coming from the Noteshelf review video and there you mentioned about the lack of a redo button. I found this by accident, but if you hold the undo button, it gives you the option to redo. I don't think this is intuitive, but it exists. Hope this helps someone.

Hey! You can move your notes around the same page but you cannot move them around other pages, for that you'd have to copy the text and paste it on other pages (although there's no heavy selection support so if you have a lot of text, you'll have to copy it in smaller pieces). You can also use it to change the colors of your notes (from 16 preselected colors), you can bring to the front or send to the back your text, you can resize your selection, and they've now added a feature to screenshot your selection:)!

I think you mentioned that Noteshelf was bundled with your Samsung. I have the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite, and it is not possible to open multiple windows. After opening a PDF and then going to a split window, it is not possible to open another window of Noteshelf. When looking at their website, it appears that this feature is only available with iOS, unless as I mentioned, there was something different about the version with your Samsung. I bought the pro version, have the latest version as well as Android 10.

That's weird, I know other people who are also able to make use of this feature on a samsung tablet. I know it's exemplified on the video but what you got to do is open the pdf and use noteshelf to do it, then you can open that window on a split screen view and open your regular noteshelf app. I hope this may clarify something and if not you can comment back and we'll try to see what's happening:)!

I open a PDF Noteshelf and minimize it. I then opened it in split screen where it sat at the top of the screen as a small bar with an X in the center and waiting for a second app to be opened. When I go to my Noteshelf icon to open a second window, the split screen bar at the top flashes, which to me means that Noteshelf is already open. There may be another way to do this, but I haven't tried it yet. There is a feature rich app called app Cloner, which does exactly that, although the developer of app Cloner warns it may not work with all apps. I used app Cloner to make a copy of INKredible, which has been my main handwriting/notetaking app. The clone works perfectly although I did have to contact the developer about one problem. He had me change some settings in the app Cloner. I re-cloned and I have no problem with 2 windows of INKredible. I'll see if I can clone Noteshelf and let you know the results.

I was able to clone Noteshelf with app Cloner. The one caveat is that the cloned app and the original store the notebooks in different locations. Each will have different notebooks listed. I'm checking to see if this can be changed when the clone is created. On the other hand, this may be safer to avoid the potential danger of the clone corrupting data in the original. Otherwise, the cloned app works perfect and I can now have 2 windows open.

I just downloaded Noteshelf on my Samsung S6 Lite and idk if i'm doing smth wrong but when I save smth to my device, no matter if it's a png or a pdf, I can't open it with any app. It just says "the file is of invalid format". Normally, I can open pdfs without any problems and I don't know what I'm doing wrong or if it's just not working, but it would be great if I could actually save my notes to my device😅

There are some apps for this that provide an interface with a personalized keyboard to write equations but I think the obtained text is just useful in those apps (I might be wrong tho). However, even if this is the case, you can screenshot the resulted text and import it in your document (I am not aware of purpose of the equations so this might not work depending on what you want them for). From the time I've been using the app, it has always worked for me, the only "requirement" for the template is to be a pdf file, other than that you should be able to add it through the "custom" tab for paper templates:)!

In noteshelf, you can only have 1 group in each folder. So you can have as many folders as you want, with many different groups inside (or just notebooks if you prefer), but each group cannot have another group inside of it

Samsung Notes has more features, but Noteshelf is vectorial! When you export the PDF, you see that your notes from Samsung Notes become horrible :P With Noteshelf, it is what it is. The best app, for sure

Yeah, you can choose to export the note and select "save to device" and it tells you the exact location where it stores it. If I'm not wrong it's internal storage/android/data/some weird name/files :)!

I think if you just have to write on pdfs, both apps do a really good job (with the difference that you don't have to pay for samsung notes), but if you have to export your notes as pdfs again, Noteshelf does a better job of handling your handwritten notes so they look smooth instead of pixelated:)!

No, unfortunately that would be a feature that android should implement. If you want to trace images and then delete them, you'd have to either download the image or take a screenshot of it and then import it to your notes, not optimal but it can be done:)!

Yeah, that's one of the disadvantages of Noteshelf: not being able to copy big pieces of your notes. You'll have to do it in smaller chunks and let's hope they fix this with future updates...:)!

I think it's not possible, I've also tried but I guess since it's not a phone, it was not designed for this functionality, they probably decided it was better to include it inside the tablet itself... still you can access your files and all of that but it's the "old way" hahaha

You can set it to automatically backup your notes but there's no auto sync so you'll have to manually import the notebooks you want to have on multiple devices

Also Do you see any burn in with your usage? I am planning to get an amoled screen tablet s6/s7+ for general usage, including ~30% note taking and studying. Your comments will help decide.

The usage depends on the day but I could encapsulate it in between 1-5 hours per day: 5 being when I have to study for an exam and I also had classes in the morning. I think it's probably the readability of the image. The one I showed was a screenshot of a PowerPoint slide so it was easy for noteshelf to read but I tried with pictures taken from the camera and it was a little more difficult so that's probably the reason you aren't able to search for words. I do sometimes feel some heat but I wouldn't consider it excessive and it doesn't limit or bother me too much. I don't know if the heat you're describing is excessive in which case I think it's not normal

Hey, I think that because the tab a 8 doesn't come with an spen from the box, if you buy a separate stylus you are probably not going to get pressure sensitivity and palm rejection. If you're okay with that I don't see a problem with using noteshelf (or any other note taking app) with a stylus:)!

Yeah I think they did, I remember trying it a few weeks later after the video and I wasn't able to get it, I just tried it once more and I'm still not able to search through them. Really unfortunate that they took it out, it was one of my favorite features of the app...

You are totally correct. You can search but you can copy the text from the pdf mainly because the app is not though to do such a thing. If you want an app that can do this, I can recomend PDFElement which let's you edit, copy, and manipulate pdfs very easily:)!

Yeah, I've noticed that and I can imagine other people worrying about the same. This is mainly caused by some inconsistences while using the app but I personally think the features it offers outweigh the occasional bugs:)!

Thank you for all note-taking. Start from onenote.squid.noteshelf.xodo.lecture note. Currently, all note taking apps installed at my S6 Lite. Samsung Notes upgraded their product to premium level not like before ( as i feel ). This channel try all feature for each apps .
