Great little demo - I like how you went through the motion of zipping it every time instead of shortcutting, thanks for that. I pack my Aer Go into other backpacks all the time (a Minaal 3.0 carry-on and a Topo 30L carry-on). I find it packs way better if I keep it flat instead of folding, then just tuck the edges in before zipping. Folding seems to cause it to billow out due to the thicker material in the pockets and straps. But good to see it still fit folded!

Yeah, every fold or wrinkle represents more space taken by air, but I needed some way to demonstrate the fit as best as I could

What small backpack do you recommend for a 800 cc bottle, umbrella, lab coat, pills wet wipe and some (2-3) chargers with option for a 14 inch laptop? I love your reviews they are very practical and grounded! Keep them going!

Are you okay putting the water bottle in the backpack? I like the Recycled Firefighter 24 hr pack as a smaller yet still very versatile laptop backpack. It’s ~18l

What I am considering is if the Bellroy Transit Workpack could be packable.

The transit workpack has a pretty solid back panel with some built in texture and lumbar support that makes it a bit bulkier within another bag

You can look up the set of countries that disallow camo patterns. I, personally, do not take anything camo on international trips.

Thanks Andy. Which one do you prefer as a daypack or carries better the Synapse or Kaidan Bullet?

In an everyday scenario, I think the Goruck Bullet is easier to fit into more situations. Eg: if I'm only carrying a few big things, like a water bottle, my sling (wallet), and a jacket in the bag. If I have a bunch of smaller things, or I'm not taking my sling, the Synapse offers a lot more organization. Also, the synapse 19 is the most comfortable bag for my body.

Now, that TB improved the straps on the Daylight daypack, it still requires one add rigidity by making your own “back” and suggests using the clothes you bring along. Clever solution but I don’t want to ruin/use my clothes (I sweat) for this purpose. Any other suggestions?

If you want a more rigid bag, there are panels you can insert similar to what I put in the gr1 here

All of the first set of bags would easily fit in the laptop compartment in an Evade1.5 full or pathfinder

It would fit, but with the added bulk, you likely wouldn't be able to fit too much else in the main compartment at all.
