I've worn a 34mm Rolex Datejust since 1994. I bought it because, at the time, I thought the 'standard' 36mm seemed too big. I still get compliments on it, perhaps because it' doesn't scream 'look at me'! With the advent of the 36mm Rolex Explorer, they're bringing back the 'right size' men's watch to the market... it would seem that 36mm is the new 40mm. That's a good thing IMHO.

I'm very new to watches, and that's one of the things I immediately noticed about the watch community. They like to say things like "I'm afraid this watch might be too small for me" and it'll look like a damn dinner plate on their wrist. I agree that 36mm is the best, it was the standard for vintage men's watches for a reason, whether big or small fellas. I think a lot of enthusiasts just like being able to say "it's too small for me" about something, anything.

@@filmdude9970 i think the best thing is just to wear what you think looks good... as long as you're happy, that's all that matters. Wear your 36mm in good health!

I've read that ceramic bearings that are dry/have little lubrication can be loud and spin very freely. Some bike racers purposely make them like that so they have less friction just for one race. Not to be negative or offensive, just wanted to mention that if the grease runs off the bridge onto the balance wheel, it could make the wheel unbalanced. might be best to remove the excess grease that's not in the bearing race. Thanks, Tomas for some fun videos. I like your enthusiasm for watches, your attention to small details like on the fine points of the dial of the PD Rolex Daytona homage, and enjoy watching you put the watch through its paces like your G-Shock testing.

I’m surprised I haven’t bought one of these yet. I have the Cadisen and Pagani Design Datejust homage so far but I definitely need one from Parnis as well. I need to make sure I get one with a Miyota movement though😅

This watch in SS silver is my dream watch. I bought this Parnis after owning a similar Holuns. Sadly. I found the Parnis has male end links, whereas the Holuns has female. I never even knew this was a thing, or mattered much. But it does! The male end links ruin the vintage look, increase the actual lug to lug length and also changes the way the watch sits on the wrist. The Cadisen has female endlinks but is too big. I don’t think there is a 36mm with female end links, except for the Holuns but that has other issues.

I have 2 datejust Parnis’ & they both use the Miyota 821a movements that are more expensive than the dg8213. The date changes gradually, not instantaneously, but it happens at 24:00, +/- 2 minutes. I also have a Matic explorer homage with an NH38a movement. What I can say is that the Matic has better brushing & lume. I wouldn’t want to go too cheap, because the possibility for getting an inferior watch would increase. If they make watches in 2 or 3 tiers. They might be able to sell them for a cheaper price, but the quality might be unpredictable. If they only make 1 standard with no second or third selection, the price might be higher, but the quality would be consistent. IMO, it wouldn’t be worth jeopardising the brand name with 2nd or 3rd tiers, unless I labelled them all accordingly. But these are not brand names. I don’t think that poor quality, is a quality that should be sought after, unless it’s a quality that is to be associated with the brand.

Omg Tomas, that poor rotor. Hahaha.I'm amazed it still works 😁 I have had some thoughts about doing it with my 9015 movement which is higher grade than the 8 series (& clones) there in these two. But it keeps really good time so I don't want to mess with it. And it is way quieter than my Seagull ST17 movement watch, far far quieter. Just wanted to say as well your site doesn't work when I tried to visit - just a heads up.

to be honest, all these Chinese watches are at least half crap, they are cheap and all but I would avoid them if possible, they got a lot of defects. Plus, you have almost none customer support from Ali, you got a defective watch? and you have to pay for the shipment back to china! lol
