Thank you for posting this video that is full of positive thought, Brother Francisco. In fact, you took me back to my visits to the Abbey of New Clairvaux, the Cistercian monastery in Northern California. My visits took place during my school breaks and lasted over a week. Yes, I am familiar with the richness of both community prayer and a structured life, which you describe. Spiritually and intellectually, I gained more from these visits than any physical work I volunteered to do.The abbey seemed to foster spiritual renewal for me. Once, the Guest Master told me that he was able to see a noticeable 'change' in my appearence, after just a few days.

It is awesome! If i were a single young man, id definitely want to be a monk at SVA❤️

I am trying to live like a monk even if I do not live in a monastary. Fasting, prying, celebacy and a "simple" living.

I'm 42 and i feel...like my time might be running out to be a religious. Lately, more and more, I feel like I want to devote myself to God completely.

A guy who came from my city, was a doctor for most of his life. He was always active in the church and with his spiritual life. At the age of 58 he's become a priest. There was another guy who lived up north who was a DJ for 30 years and last year at the age of 58 too, became a priest. And there's a testimony on KZbin of a guy who worked in corporate America all his life, was married and when his wife passed away, discerned a priestly vocation. He then became a priest at 66 or thereabouts. And by all accounts he is amazing priest with a lifetime of experience to draw upon in tending to his parishioners. So I would absolutely not be counting myself out if I were you because if it truly is God's will for you to become a monk or a priest, it will happen and no human being can stand in the way.

@@ciscornBIG oh keep the door open. If you are feeling this, maybe you should visit St Vincent to see if you are being called. Don’t wait. Give it a chance

You have been called, and embrace that ! We are called to be part of God's army. We all play our part and no one is greater than another. Speak about your Father and fight his fight. You do not need to take holy orders to be God's envoy.

The Bible never command you to be a monk. Adam & Eve were married to procreate. Being a monk doesn't guarantee you to enter paradise. 😮

Brother, with due respect, in my eyes, you are KZbinr, not a monk.

Surely it's possible to be a monk and have an online ministry? Look at bishop barron

I understand you. From where i am from, we need to serve NS (National Service) by law. I love how the regimentation works, the structure works, the discipline works and the community works. It helps me especially that i am a lazy person. I especially like the Religious it just feels different from the diosecan. That charisma!
