I was in interested in becoming a monk and joining a Monastery but my father passed away suddenly and that was a time that was too emotional with grief with his sudden death to make this transition then after some time when I recovered from our family grief the Monastery closed kzbin.info/www/bejne/aZC0n6GhptmmpNksi=8pPBjhgyD7QEA3wj what a sudden chain of events so it seems that it was a sign that maybe the Monastery is not going to work out for me in these times

Came back from the pub tonight Francisco and really needed to hear your voice and your simplicity after talking with older men talking about the Father. Having seen and heard the spiritual wisdom of God and the universe I felt starved that I had no one to express myself to. But as I had previously told my friend that I had been warned not to speak to people about what I have seen and heard , I reminded him that I was not allowed to remember what I had been shown or told as my small human brain could not hold it for more than a few minutes. But my brain remains scared of it and the overwhelming beauty of God and how he speaks to me in His simplicity. Having received The Blessed Sacrament this morning at mass, my only struggle was not to be overwhelemed by the experience and to just be able to return to my place in a quiet area of the church and contain the Holy body of CHRIST in my mouth. My first thought was that I had already been carrying the Holy Spirit with me in my body as I ask him daily to inhabit my being, and soul and it gave me great joy to know that suddenly I was now a vessel that carried The Holy Spirit and The Body of Christ both at the same time. Had I been able to I would have happily fallen on the floor of the church and allowed myself to feel like a piece of the Earth in humility before God. But I was in a busy church,. Perhaps you wonder why I speak to you like this and my only answer is that the joy that I see in your being and the love that you have for Our Father which comes from you in all of your words and enthusiasm is how I feel in myself. Thank you little Saint for your goodness and simplicity!

The question might be,.......who actually names us? Does God name us in heaven before we are born and we assume that name through our parents giving our earthly name to us when we arrive. Or does God have another name for us that he will call us and we will recognise when we die?

The Miraculous Power of Prayer is immense! I pray that more people will call upon God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit for help. The angels too play a great role in our lives, and especially our own Guardian Angel who is with us from birth and never leaves us until they return us to God after death. My life has been filled with gifts that I have asked for and I particularly get a great deal of joy when I get a message from above to say that I have been heard and the problem has been dealt with. One such experience was when my mother was diagnosed with terminal cancer and I prayed in St Peters in Rome for a cure and asked that she could live another 5 years of life. A month later I returned to the hospital with her only to find that all trace of the two cancerous areas had vanished and that she was indeed cancer free. The doctors had no explanation. She died 5 years and 10 months later from causes which had no connection with cancer.

This is good. I liked the parallels between hearing your difficulties in being a monk with my difficulties in being a husband and father. I’ve stopped at your guys morning prayer on my way to work and have thought, “I wish I was up there praying with them as a monk.” However, I know I am in my vocation. I love my family. It just isn’t easy. It is easier when we (me and my family) live a Christ-centered life, but that isn’t always easy. Thanks for saying, “yes,” to God’s call.

I agree JJ. I am sick listening to all the people who claim to be holy, walking in the footsteps of Christ male or female, living the word of God. Are all of you kidding yourselves? It seems to me that all of the holier than thou bigots could not walk in the footsteps of Christ even if he gave you ten legs. Judge yourselves, look in the mirror and honestly ask yourselves if you are better than anyone else. I would bet your reflection in that mirror would resemble a hollow and ugly soul.

You will not stay because you are attached to the wrong things. Your talk and vlogs are just a facade. Words are your noise and you need to be silent. You use it as a dear diary. I don't personally think you are living a genuine form of Benedictine life. You use this vlog to fill the loneliness. You should move beyond it because being alone is not loneliness. Loneliness is self pity and ego. Being alone is wonderful and being in your own cell with God is a relief. Others can simply be a distraction.

Brother Francisco is a Benedictine monk, not a Trapist. Ora et Labora is the motto of the Benedictine order so, his vlogs and talks are just part of his work ( labora ) as a monk. There are times to be silent and there are times to talk, you cannot be silent all the time neither talking all the time, even Trapist monks have their time to talk to each other.

Owain Glyn-Dwr is most probably buried in Herefordshire. One of his daughters married into the Scudamore family who still own houses and land from that time (15th century). They are a horse racing family. They have a contemporary portrait of an old man - who might depict him! Owain refused a pardon from Henry V (who won Agincourt) as he considered himself the real Prince of Wales. Who do you think the Welsh think to be the real Prince?
@andrewlewis9231

Well, it is a relic of our Roman past. Roman legions held them on pikes with sound effects to ward off enemies. Also, according to legend, there are two dragons who are captive within Welsh mountains - a white one which represents the English (Saxon) and the red - the Welsh (Cymro - native Britons) who will eventually win. Us Welsh have a history of heroes who do not die - but kept safe till another time - Arthur and then Owain Glyn Dwr - who were both never defeated and there is no record of their deaths. They will come back and we will drive the Saxons back in the sea (and god only knows, the rest of them!!!! - except for essential kebab workers cos i like them)

Burying yourself in a cell is not what God wants people to do. He wants us to live lives of charity for others and no church is going to tell me different. The whole religious life thing, the vestment thing, . . . shows a church who thinks they know more than God. The Catholic Church no longer lives in the Middle Ages when people let their priests think for them. Modern young people are leaving it once they depart the family nest. Fear of God no longer exists. The reality that God is our Father and could never send one of His children to Hell is now understood. The whole concept of Hell and Purgatory is now understood as the Middle Ages misconception it truly is. I give Catholicism ten years!

Dude, if you seriously believe the whole Catholic Church (which has 1 billion followers) will only last a few more years, then why on earth did you take the time to write a full-length graduate thesis in the comments section of an obscure Catholic podcast? Don't you have better things to do with your time than waste it all on KZbin? And by the way, speaking of outdated, your opinions on the Faith are WAYYY outdated: the woke, modernist heresies popularized in the 1970's and 80's are no longer relevant. Embrace the true and timeless traditions of the Catholic Church and you can be a great saint
@absalon6888

You finish your comment accusing the Church of thinking it knows more than God, yet you start your comment pretending to know what God wants people to do. Strange way of reasoning , isn't it ? To be a monk is a call from God, what is wrong with leaving everything for the love of the kingdom? remember the pearl collector who sold all the pearls he had just to buy the one he thought was the more valuable ? that's a monk.

What we really need most is to take advantage of our own miseries and falls. To humble ourselves and confess our nothingness and misery; to ask God for forgiveness, and to begin again without fainting: this is the work of our whole life. -Saint Therese of Lisieux The greatest and most common obstacle that the devil usually places in the way of souls who walk the path of virtue and holiness is the discouragement caused by their relapses into faults. “When I think that I am falling into some fault, I immediately get up. A look at Jesus and the knowledge of my own misery repair everything. When one accepts with sweetness the humiliation of having been imperfect, the grace of God returns immediately.” -Saint Therese of Lisieux
