The whole Rina controversy just seems so weird to me. Obviously I don’t know her personally, but based on what I’ve seen of her from her videos and interviews, she seems like a very responsible and mature person who’s willing to own up to her mistakes. She’s even said before that if something goes wrong, she always puts the blame on herself and never on the people around her, and will even try to fix the issue herself. It’s so odd to me how in these two controversies she’s been in, she either doesn’t apologize or her apologies aren’t written directly towards the people she’s apologizing to. I know she’s capable of doing better than this. It almost makes me think that the people above her are telling her what to do...? Idk, maybe I’m just making up theories because i still cant process that it happened. Maybe I just expected more from her.

wait genuine question (not trying to be rude or snarky) - didn’t lana say that she meant that since female artists nowadays are praised by the media for being open with their sexuality (as they should be) she should be allowed to express her experiences with her femininity/experiences such as abuse without being accused of “glamorizing abuse”? i remember early in her career she alwaysss got shit for her song content (ie. cola/ultraviolence/etc.) because people thought she was glamorizing things or being too sexual and people didn’t like that she portrayed herself as submissive rather than the typical “girl boss” side of what feminism is often seen as. at least, that’s what i was getting from it. i think lana also has a tendency now to get too defensive too fast because she’s so afraid of her words getting twisted, and her defensiveness just digs her deeper into her own hole. idk if what i’m trying to say is coming across how i want to but hopefully someone understands what i’m trying to get at. also not hating on u for not liking her anymore i totally respect it and there might just be things i’m misinterpreting.

Oh boy, I sometimes don't know which is worse - stan culture or cancel culture. If cancel culture worked, people like Chris Brown wouldn't still be successful to this day. And stan culture is the reason that so many people avoid accountability. I appreciate your honesty because you can maintain that someone is talented without co-signing their behavior. I agree with your list, especially since I believe that most of these artists will only see growth if they finally see the consequences of their actions with the fall of their support. Anyone who is calling this cancelling doesn't know that tough love is real love and your fundamental beliefs can't be let down by people who should inspire you. I've always been super reluctant in supporting artists or even KZbinrs because I'm tired of being let down, but I can honestly say you're one of the few consistent creators that I respect.
