You should try the Korbel vineyard tour on the Russian River area!

oookay, Olive 🫒 ...high end food (Italian; Restaurant: American; Name: French) in the 5-star Auberge-du-Soleil... I paused the video twice to study the menu board, but apparently it didn't matter what you eat, and whether you know, what it is, as it just all tastes divine... the Chef likely earns a fortune for his creations... and Mats (or Matt?) finally shows his face, probably resigned to your persistent plea to do so, eh?! 😎 I watched this with a glass of fine (probably 3-star-)red and a snack of cheese oatcakes, decorated with dollops of mayonnaise... not a match to your delicacies...😋🥘 PS. I completely agree from my experiences about the friendliness of the Californians, and yet I couldn't land in the culture as a permanent... - you know, Olive, seeing you here after all the other places, you've been and shared on this channel, I wonder if you have a top-3... and especially I wonder where your camino sits with all the other journeys you've been on... its probably hard to compare... for me my caminos have a fairly high value, incl. all the blood, sweat & tears I went through, as it felt so real, so close to life, as it overall is, and yet, very magic... Napa valley feels in comparison rather like a holiday trip to (especially food) heaven..., without freezing, blisters and getting soaked, or questioning life... how do we value our life experiences, or do we look at them just like pearls on a chain, each one unique and magical in its own way...? ☯ here we go: my usual philosophical musings... 🤣

The chef must indeed be doing well, especially since it's a Michelin-star restaurant with a few awards (which I didn't know at the time! 😄). I have to admit, even though it was crazy expensive, the food in Napa Valley was incredible, which I wasn’t expecting, to be honest! 😋🍽 As for Matt... after constantly ruining his peaceful moments on holiday by asking him to film, I figured it was time to take it to the next level! 😂🎥 Comparing places like Napa and the Camino is so hard because they’re such different experiences. Napa was definitely more of a typical holiday, while other places had more meaning and cultural impact. I really love variety in travel, switching between challenging, backpacking trips and more luxurious experiences. 🏝 I think one adds value to the other, both ways. For me, the best kind of travel is when I get to experience a completely different culture in an authentic way, though I still have so many places to see! That kind of longer-term travel requires a higher budget and, of course, more time. Thanks to Matt’s work, I’ve been lucky enough to experience a more luxurious side of travel, too, although I get just as excited for the less comfortable but more meaningful experiences. 🚶♀🌄 Having both from time to time really does bring more value to each. As for my top 3... that’s a tough one! But I’d say Cappadocia is definitely in there... I really regret not filming it! We did so much hiking in the valleys, and it felt like a different world. Even though it’s touristy, it had so much more to offer than most people show/see. The Camino is probably next, for so many reasons... such a complex and rewarding experience! And I’d say number three is Zanzibar, Tanzania. 🌴 Again, it felt like a completely different world! But I’ve never been to South America or Southeast Asia, for example, which I know I would love, so there’s still so much more to see in the future! 🌍 I’m also curious to hear what your top 3 would be! 🏞🏜🏝🏆

@@oliviaelenat great top-3, Olive... personally I can only share the camino, but almost any African experience must be amazing, and Cappadocia looks awesome - I'm not surprised!! 💚 ...my top-3... 3rd coming in is Spain, not just the camino... I've been all over it: Granada & the Alpujarras in Andalusia; Nerja & Ronda in the south; Ibiza & Mallorca of the Baleares; Tenerife, Gomera, La Palma & Lanzarote of las Canarias - the land, the flora, the culture (the Spanish classical guitar!!) and the Christian-Moorish mesh-up in the history - love that country to bits, and often considered to move there, without ever 'nailing it'... and I might not even feel at home there, if I try to permanently live there... so, its ongoing visits... runner-up: Scotland, my home-country-of-choice... this is as nurturing to my soul as it gets within Europe - deeply immersed in the Celtic - rain, fog, coldness, bag-pipes, dark rugged landscapes... but also amazing beaches and islands (you can't really travel the West coast, without using ferries), more sun than you'd expect (combined with the rain, it gets constantly rainbows, and quite frequently northern lights), very friendly and relaxed people, and one of the lowest populations per square-kms in Europe - I can breathe here so freely...! no.1: the North-Indian peninsula, incl. Tibet & Nepal, or: the Himalayas & surroundings... now: I haven't been there physically, but it does feel like my soul's home country, and most of my inspiration and influential teachings are from there... again: I don't know, if I would want to live there, and yet - it feels sitting at the core of my being, and like the spiritual centre of the earth... intuition?, former life times? - I don't know, but I've had experiences, that hint to such-likes... 🧡🙏🌈

@@jornspirit I completely share your love for Spain! It was actually the first country I ever visited. I was in a chamber choir at the time, and we participated in a folk festival called Europeade. That year, it was held in Zamora, Spain (2006), and we traveled all the way by bus from Bucharest. 🚍 That’s when I realised how much I loved that kind of travel... not just going on holiday. Your number one choice, the North Indian peninsula, sounds incredible, and Nepal is high up on my list of places to visit too. 🌄 I really hope you get to visit someday! 🌍⛰🏞
