'My Favorite Rick & Bubba Memory' | Ep 69

Excited to see this! I will say one of my favorite memories is listening to the best of CD. Last year, I was having the very worst year of my entire life. I was at my emotional, spiritual rock bottom. I was listening on KZbin a best of CD from Make Radio Great Again. It was entitled "Fat Fat Fat" . Rick was describing his bout with gall stones. He made the statement "I am in excruciating pain and something must change." At that very moment, I had the biggest epiphany of my life. I, myself, was in excruciating pain in my own life and I had to change. From that point forward, I began a series of intensive weekly therapy sessions with a counselor to rebuild my life from the ground up. Rick probably never invisioned that sharing a story about his gall stones would change someone's life, but I thank God I heard it because it certainly changed mine.

As a retired LEO, I sure would like to hear the rest of the story behind the 4 wheeler prank that got the police called over someone being shot… is that the story that led to the Guntersville Treaty? And also, any back story that may have occurred that listeners are not aware of. … that is the walking dog of pranks.. stay in it!

My all time favorite is Goat Tossing. Andy Spinosi kept me in stitches. His talent is sorely missed.

My favorite episode when I heard the story of Rick was visiting a relative house and they had a pet parrot who flies inside the house and Rick had some sort of phobia from it and it kept flying close to Rick, then Rick smacked it down unconsciously and the bird did not move and he had to hide it under the couch.😅😂

Operation “Vicky Quest” never gets talked about anymore but that one owned me so bad. For me, it is up there with Willie and Wanda.

Some of the funniest (and most frustrating) moments on the show are when someone gets a word or phrase clearly wrong, but everyone in the studio assures them they're saying it right. Like at 22:10 when Rick says "antidote" instead of "anecdote" and Bubba laughs but then realizes he doesn't know how to pronounce it either so he just declares that Rick was correct. And neither of them check up when Bubba is talking about "minimally evasive" surgeries. Love you guys! The day I got hooked was when I was watching on Turner South the day Speedy got tased!

I don’t understand why there isn’t a bigger audience on this platform but definitely should post more I live in Alabama and listen everyday and have for years and think this would explode if it were promoted more

My favorite segment by far. It was a phone troll. The guy called in and said Greg tallywacker Greg tallywacker. Two phone calls after that doo doo tallywacker. The guys roasted those two for about the next 5 to 10 minutes. It was so funny

Going ahead and commenting the obvious but Willie and Wanda is the all-time best story/segment ever. In terms of guests, I’ll always be a Coach Lou fan. Been a listener since 2005!

Loved all the memories! My husband says his favorite is still one that never made a best of. It was Rick going off when some Girl Scout parents got upset that he sold cookies for Brandy on air to help her. His rant was incredible but was probably early in Ricks sanctification 😂😂

One of the best bits was, I think, from Feb 19, 1996 when Rick got back from his honeymoon on the cruise ship during which he lost his travelers checks or cash or whatever he was using to fund the trip. His sound effects with the party atmosphere and steel drum going from wide open to realizing that they had no money was very funny. I hate that it never gets played on the 'Best ofs'. Been here since Bubba was a part timer. Thanks

Watching Bubba fall getting out of the Teslaa while visiting the studio that day made me realize he fits his big truck much better and getting out of a Tesla after taking it for a spin was like getting up off the ground twice strapped in a straight jacket . Now lets have a riding mower race once again .

A new"ish" one that's my favorite is "Hungry Butt." This is back when Helms, Speedy, and Greg used to work out together and the trainers at the gym messing with them. So funny.

I can relate to the bug in the ear. I had a gnat fly into mine maybe a year and a half ago, and it refused to come out. It was terrible. Can't get away from the sound either. I called my mother worried, she told me to leave it alone, it'd come out. I told her, "I CAN HEAR IT DYING!!" It was terrible. My husband was zero help, so I had to kill it completely, it finally dies and no more sound, and had to get it out with q-tips. Three or four finally got the blood of it out. EW
