xfritz5375 not necessarily, it would be be more likely that if the phrase fits into 5/4 it would be written in 5/4. Counting in the alternating 2/4 3/4 bars would be more work for the musician instead of just counting in 5/4, if the musical phrase works with it

5:43 this part is beautiful and is something I’ve never heard been replicated or done similarly by other bands to my knowledge, as well as most areas of this song. The drumming is bombastic, technical but not overbearing and it’s unpredictable in a good way. The arpeggios melding with the drums have a very rich, jazz like quality and the way the keyboards flutter up octaves while the guitar and bass hold down the central part of the groove. It changes keys so rapidly but also has a tonal renter to it, it’s hard to describe

Yes... finally someone else sees this. Dream Theater and the Black Mages sound almost the same at times. 0:44 - 0:57 Battle music 2:04 - 2:31 3:03 - 3:07 Battle beginning tune / bridge part of a battle music 4:22 - 4:32 Boss battle music I guess maybe they took inspiration from Nobuo Uematsu but then again Dream Theater sounds like the Black Mages versions of Uematsu's music, not the original.

I hear A LOT of Yes' and ELP's and Rush's music in this. :-)
@laurentst-denis38396 жыл бұрын
Both Uematsu and Dream Theater were influenced by 70s bands like ELP and added some metal to the recipe. An instrumental DT song emphasizes the similarities.

Just played this song at a talent show at a fair near where I live. I got beat out by a sucky beat boxer who kept messing up and taking breaks, a horrible dancer who just rolled around on the floor, and someone literally saying the Gettysburg Address from remembering it incorrectly. She won by dressing up like Lincoln and she said the Gettysburg Address. Incorrectly. Literally. Shows how cultured people are. lol

@nickpaternostro29008 жыл бұрын
BarronBrothersFilms It is from a really shitty angle and you can't see it...sorry dude. But, you do have my word that I played the entire thing. Did not mess up once. Literally, some girl dressed up like Abraham Lincoln and incorrectly stated the Gettysburg Address incorrectly from memory. She skipped half of it and she still won money for it. Some kid who beatboxed kept messing up, taking breaks, and drinking water. He also overstayed his welcome on stage and was up there for 25 minutes. He ALSO won money. Yet, I play "The Dance of Eternity" cover to cover, and I don't get anything.
@nickpaternostro29008 жыл бұрын
