I laughed out loud when I saw the nightstand drawer in your cart. I have seen fights over 1st rights. I always grab a cushion or drawer to prevent someone else from taking an item. I do the same when purchasing on FB Marketplace or a curb/trash pickup. I gut the item and send the movers back for the shell.

My vote is everything light and bright. For the first time I framed all my art, I did them in black frames, and I am loving it! There is something so classy about them all one color, it creates in my opinion almost like a texture to the walls as well as the beautiful picture’s to look at when you get up close. You have amazing taste, so I am sure you will make it gorgeous whatever you choose. 😊

@@debbiekennedy6030 Thank you! I am Granny's Vintage Gypsy because my Granny used to tell me of all her 17 grandchildren, I was her gypsy. And that is never gonna change. I LOVE my minis, boots, hats, jewelry, bell bottoms - all of it. And it's ALL thrifted! Everything! The only change is at the start of the pandemic, I stopped coloring my hair. My motto is WWJD only the J stands for Janis. I like to think of myself as what my girl Janis would have been as an old broad. We didn't reach this age for nothin' - live and breathe and be the person you want to be. It makes me happy. And it made Iris Apfel happy and she lived to the ripe old age of 100 being exactly who she wanted to be. Yes, she is our role model - the leader of our pack of free spirited older women. Viva Iris!

We went in June 2023 as a graduation present for my son and it was an amazing experience. Great job on the frames! Fascinating process, to see what’s under there! I used to work for the company that makes Klean Strip about 30 years ago. We all joked about never drinking the water from the water fountain. I worked in the office, but you could smell the chemicals coming from the plant all day.

You always find great things and style them beautifully. I would liked to have seen all the jewellery laid out. 😍 After you clean the stain off the frames, to make them look even nicer, I would use Rustoleum white wax on the frames. Brush on with a round brush, and wipe back. The dresser looks amazing. Can't wait to see your Japan trip video. They make such beautiful things too. 👍😁🌺

Ooooo--you found some vintage Laurel Burch earrings! The little silver birds, I have those in my collection of Laurel Burch jewelry that started out in the early 1980s. Great find! Also, I would say an eclectic mix of frame colors/matting in the lighter wood/cream and black frames and black matting--but I would mix it up, too…what would cream matting look like inthe black frames and/or black matting in the light wood tone? Plus with your huge gallery wall of photos I would also add a few items that break up all of the frames. It’s going to be sooo good! 🌸

Personally, on my wall, I like very black frames with very white mats but first i digitally edit photos and darken the photos around the edges of the image with one of the photo editors. In editor, I found there are several types of black and white choices. I either make them all in black and white or all in sepia. I love my photo wall but mine is against a knotted pine wood wall. I agree, they were lost in the composition. Black mats would likely make them pop, but will depend on the photo, I think. If the right lighting is used to accent the gallery walls I think using dark elements would work. I prefer light rooms, but when considering the use of the space, and the fact that the focus is on the subjects of the photos dark mats with great lighting would make a great statement. Lighting is also used in interior design to draw people into a certain area, pathway, or to focus on a certain thing or something like the cash wrap. This is how lighting can help here.

Black matte with light frames will have most impact and focuses on subject matter: you photos. I am an artist and while everyone has an opinion on the matter, I always found a white matter with a black core (double matte) and black frame made my mixed media art “pop”. Try all the options on one frame before making your decision.
