5 years ago I started learning English and here's a list of all the tv shows I binge watched from beginning to end: *friends *how I met your mother. *the big bang theory. * mom * the nanny. * two broke girls. * two and a half men. * full house/ fuller house. * modern family. My favorite ones are "friends" " how I met your mother" " full house" and " fuller house" . I recommend you watching friends first If you are a beginner and then work your way up to the other shows like how I met your mother. I spent 5 years watching all these tv shows I can confidently say I know more about these shows than shows from my own country.. cheers!

Thank you for being so honest about the fact that your recommendations are personal and may not suit everyone! I hate giving recommendations because I don't know what sort of things people like, what their level is or what type of English they need. And you're right, there's no magic show or movie, not that I've found! I also appreciate the real talk about making a bit of effort while watching - the language doesn't magically go into your head! Personally, I teach with movies, but work with advanced learners and we spend a whole month watching, understanding and discussing a movie. It takes time!

In my experience, watching movies is much easier than watching TV shows. Films usually have less dialogue, because the main rule when making a good film is to talk less, show more. Secondly, the movie has less time to discover its idea, therefore dialogs of movies shorter and concentrated as much as possible.

@@andreysnowy5625 I agree with u. Moreover he (Linguamus) says the same thing about polyglots too. But he his really different. if you know Russian u can listen to his non stop videos in Russian. I personally saw him in real life how he speaks languages, especially Russian, Arabic and Turkish. He definitely knows a lot more words than the average native Russian speaker. it is not just my personal opinion. This is the official assessment of some Russian linguistics professors about his knowledge of the Russian language. He was teaching languages in MGLU. He can learn and speak any language with NO real practice in a relatively short time. He even knows dead languages. His channel Linguamus. Enjoy it.

I watched English movies with my native language subtitles in the past and I learned nothing but few expressions. I have started to improve my English skills and I have been forced to follow a whole season in VO without subtitles at all! It's pretty hard depending on the speakers but it is so rewarding! I had not figured everything out but I understood the essence of it. The main rule is to enjoy it and doesn't make a big deal not understanding everything.

How long have you been learning English?
@azertyssement14 жыл бұрын
@@truongtruong817 I started learning English at school but I have really started by myself a year ago. Sometimes I become frustrated because of some ununderstandable accents that I can't hear...To me, American is far easier than British one, which I still struggle with.
@truongtruong8174 жыл бұрын
@@azertyssement1 oh great,your English is very good,can you share me some tips to improve English?
@azertyssement14 жыл бұрын
@@truongtruong817 Of course! I wrote a list a few months ago. My key points are : Learn by writing, listening, speaking English: understanding is good but not enough, read loudly newspapers articles for example. I use to watch TedX videos for these reasons: 6-15 minutes format allows me to be concentrate. My brain refuses to concentrate more than 15 minutes on a foreign language. The more I practice the more I can follow longer videos. Moreover, TedX gives me the ability to turn on subtitles or not. Once I have understood the talk, I am able to correct my understanding by reading it. Also, TedX is interesting because of the short video format, talkers give to us the main points to understand. Last but not the least, this format allows me to get information on different subjects from speakers living in different places in the world. The meaning of this is that I listen to different accents, ways of speaking English, and not only English or American ones. Currently, I let down TedX because I have chosen almost fifteen KZbinrs from all around the world in order to understand different English accents. The main thing is that you have to enjoy the process of choosing topics that you like such as cooking, sports, self-development,etc... You must like doing it otherwise you will abandon the objective. If you don't like Tedx, find another way. You must accept that you can't understand everything for a while: focus on the key points. You must practise English as often as possible: every day even fifteen minutes per day. I recommend you to use Grammarly to correct your mistakes when you are writing a message (just as I am doing right now!) That is not enough to correct everything, especially conjugation but it still useful. I am using the free version installed on my computer. That's working in Gmail, youtube... app.grammarly.com/

Hey Anna!! As I was watching your video, I started to thinking about the production of itself, the amount of work and the effort you and your family had been putting to each one of your videos. I appreciate this so much because I just love this process of learning English and throughout this journey you've been a fabulous teacher!! I thank you so much for putting all this time for making every single one of this helpful material!! So, If I could give you any suggestion, any idea for you to maybe raise the level of production it'll be in reference to this solemnity tone on how you approach your themes you're talking about. Like this video for example: You're talking about TV shows and... Ok, let's say... Let's take Friends as example; it's a comedy with this youthful vibe with this great mood that always they're having and reflecting, the lightning of the show is always so bright and that gives you this sense of joyfulness, maybe all of this things together are the true appeal of the show. Ok, so now imagine this kind of vibe in your videos; You are in a very illuminated white room with this kind of happy/joyful music, talking as always you have been, with no unnecessary jokes and all of that stuff. I'm just saying that It'd be nice to see you in the future just being yourself in a totally different environment... Or maybe I just shut up for the better.🤔😛 Anyways... Love to seeing your videos Anna, let's keep on practicing!😃
