I'm not into comic book cosplay, or whatever it's called, but that is some beautiful work that you do... and the armor photography is great, too. Mmmm! Armour potted meat sandwich!

AWESOME! It never occurred to me to dye the leather before cutting them out on the laser!

Hey, as a frame of reference, what size head circumference is the berserk skull helmet pattern for at default? I have the pattern but don't want to trial and error my way to the right size since I have a really big head and a reference would help me scale it properly. I'm trying to make it out of metal so I can't count on it to stretch like leather would. Any response is appreciated, thank you.

Great vid! Love your content. Question with the laser. Do you have any good tips to keep down charring? I have been wetting the leather first, which does help a bit, but seeing if you have any other tips? Cheers, and thanks for the amazing content!

Thanks. Wetting helps, masking with tape or tape sheets can do a lot, it also seems slowing down the speed can actually help, which seems counterintuitive. I'll be covering a lot of this in an upcoming vid (soonish) btw with examples.

@@Princearmory thanks! That IS counterintuitive. I will give it a go. Can't wait to see that episode!

Can I run pasted back veggie tan leather in a laser cutter or is that toxic?
@georgprime46654 ай бұрын
I'm not sure with this model. But I know a laser cutter he had before came with an exhaust system you could vent out through a window.
@Princearmory4 ай бұрын
My personal philosophy is treat any smoke as toxic and make sure its vented properly or filtered properly. But yes I've used pasted back on the laser at times. Side point though, I don't like pasted back for most of my works though because it makes it harder to shape and work it compared to normal veg tan.

Stupid question could you use an airbrush for the dye etc?
@PrincearmoryАй бұрын
Yes it's very common, just mind your air pressure so you don't overspray your whole workspace with dye pigment

Downside to laser cutting leather.... the burnt steak smell for the next 3 days...
@Princearmory4 ай бұрын
Yeah, that's why we always rinse off the leather shortly after cutting, that cuts most of the smell, and also dispose or trim off the offcuts, avoid letting them just build up, and sweep out the laser bed after every few project from rivet holes or dust.
