The first time I played Borderlands 2, I thought Zer0 would be the melee character in the game, and would be use only melee weapons like, knife, katanas, or swords. Later, I understood that all characters will use guns.

Zer0's extremely easy to play if you use Love Thumper as you don't need to time your shield strip on Hide of Terra. Love Thumper will take an extra melee or two against tougher enemies, but is significantly easier to use

Though I’m guessing you had to farm a very rare drop, the Hide of Terramorphis, in order to do this. And if you were to use this technique to level from 60-80, you’d need to farm a new Hide a few times during that to upkeep your damage. That sounds like a pain.

not to mention that playing with the hide turns killing a couple of enemies into a stressfull micromanagement gameplay loop. You have to keep track of shield, deception, kunai count, deathmark and the weapon youre holding. Mess up and you might find yourself completely vulnerable amidst a group of enemies

Different preference, i guess. BL3 has more polish to it, while i feel like BL2 has more of a skill ceiling, and better mechanics. I've been obsessed with melee Zer0 ever since i tried him on the PSVita

Personally, Borderlands 3 has really fun gunplay, but I only like Zane. The story and characters are... tolerable, some bits are good, some characters are good, some bits and characters are downright bad/annoying. In BL2, I love Krieg, Gaige is fun, Sal is fun, Maya is kinda fun, Zero is fun. Jack is my favorite villain in any game. BL2 has personality and variety in skills that 3 can't even get close to matching. That being said, I like both.

Borderlands 3 is more focused on weapons. There is MASSIVE power creep which turns away from the character and towards the weapons instead. Also you can't play as Zer0 in borderlands 3, which sucks.

cool. Question for anyone with information on the matter: im going through for the first time on a tvhm mode on krieg and im having a very difficult time. I cannot seem to isolate what the problem is. The only really truly outdated things on the character are my artifact and class mod, which are like very low levels, but thats because i havent gotten anything better. I use an old rage meat class mod with terrible health regen, and an artifact that is old but increases fight for your life time which i figured would go very good with light the fuze, but i havent gotten anything better at my level. Skill wise i opted for mania and bloodlust mostly, i can provide detailed information if nessecary, if anyone has any suggestions id like to hear them

Well for starters, what type of build are you going for - be it melee, bloodsplosion/grenade damage, or elemental? Few tips from me: 1. Light the fuse damage dropped off hard at one point so I eventually dropped it 2. If you rely on your action skill, I would recommend capping out the melee tree, as it basically gives you infinite blood axe rampage 3. If you rely more on weapons than action skill, I recommend bloodsplosion tree. Boosted grenade damage and kill skills within there work for many weapons as well (splash dmg from explosive weapons and a few others are boosted by grenade dmg buffs). 4. If you want your weapons to have a magazine size of a Hollywood revolver with the fire rate of an A10 warthog, all while screaming and being on fire (literally) - try hellborn. TLDR Unga Bunga melee skill tree strong if have rapier + silence the voices com + release the beast skill. BLOODSPLOSION + FASTBALL MAKE YOUR SCREEN AND EYES EXPLODE HELLBORN makes guns go brrr Ps: if struggling for survivability get the ruby/grog.

@ParrythePlatypus68 I mostly rely on weapons but use the skill for dealing with tankier enemies. It is a little surprising to head that about light the fuze, but if that's the case I'll respec. I am struggling for survivability and I'm taking way too much damage and i shouldn't be, or at least I don't think i shouldn't be.

@@ParrythePlatypus68 yeah so i'm fairly certain the scaling in this game is complete bullshit. most enemies aren't a problem, but they still deal ludicrous amounts of damage. i'm more concerned with enemies that virtually one shot you, I just had a run in with that one tiny tina's tea party sidequest and the varkid you fight is literally one shotting me. I unironically thought it was the perma slag bug so i quit and relaunched it, but it didn't do anything, so that is indeed the amount of damage it is doing. the projectiles it fires cannot be consistently dodged and it will just keep throwing them at you anyways. i'm not having fun at all, i might just move on to the pre sequel because i heard some scaling issues were addressed but i'm not sure.
