I love the system. I have both the SLR and the Lightning connector. You have to watch if you use a phone case. My Apple case works, but I just bought the new Polar Pro lens system and had to carve up the bottom of the case in order to use the lightning adapter.

That’s true! Some cases definitely get in the way. The RX transmitter can definitely help when using a similar setup. It also happens to me with the moment cases. Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us! 🤘🏼

Can you just use the transmitter with out the receiver and connect it wirelessly through Bluetooth connection on your smartphone? That would be so much easier, less equipment, less hassle.

No comparasion with Comica Boomx D2 because comica records stereo and mono whatever you wish according to the situation, later you can split and edit 2 audio tracks separately, but Blink 500 only records one track and if you other person fks up ur audio by coughing , sneezing etc than you can not edit in post.

You do have gain adjustments but no noise reduction. I usually leverage garageband orr final cut pro x for those adjustments.

Not gonna lie, i liked the audio straight from the EOS R more in the outdoor setting. Is it just me, or is the external mic bassier and muffled without the lavalier? Good audio definitely is a complicated topic...

I was actually surprised at the audio captured with the EOSR built in mic. The challenge was wind. That’s why I was giving my back to the ocean most times but on a controlled setting it’s definitely clear and usable!
