Mark, this is an incredible tip! So much on KZbin trends towards well lit, evenly exposed scenes. A lot of people making videos seem to suggest that you want to avoid backlighting at all costs in order to expose the subject properly, but you've articulated a really gripping counterpoint to that "rule." Thanks for making content and I'm looking forward to checking out more of your stuff!

That backlighting with the fog and dust in the warehouse, during the documentary scenes, is so clutch. And I love that you added the tip about the reflector and bounce-board - All so important to know when not only shooting the footage, but for the post-production aspect also. Killer video, brother. Also, 100% get nerdy and talk about more technical stuff. There are loads of videos on YT that cover the generic stuff, but it'll be great to get some more experienced tips or even thoughts about higher-level productions.

Great technique! I stumbled on it one day while I was filming a fisherman on a boat, at sunrise, the boat drifted around and the sunrise was right behind him. I said, "wait! Go back!" Really cool flares, silhouette, etc. Now you've given even more creative inspiration for use of the technique. ABSOLUTELY interested in the more professional side of your work and the nitty gritty of the films. It's a great opportunity for us to learn from a directors perspective. Thank You!

You’re the only KZbinr I’ve found so far that explains true cinematography. It’s not “how I did broll of ice cream” or something. It’s like true, dense, applicable information. Sure it can be used for YouTubing.. but I think it’s nice seeing your actual cinematic work mixed in. Definitely rare to see some great at what they do AND KZbin it all.
