I FIND THE MAGPIE A SKY KIND OF BIRD REALLY, NOT PUSHY AT ALL UNLIKE CROWS. I DONT GO MUCH FOR CROWS AT ALL UNLESS THEY HAVE BEEN RARED BY A HUMAN. MINOR BIRDS ARE CUTE BUT THEY CAN BE CRANKY AND NOISY AND GET INSIDE YOUR ROOF WHICH I DONT WANT.

It's easy to tell the differrence.The back of the males neck is all white while the back of the females has a black tinge through it.Have a look next time,ok.

Yeah he was a mix of so many of the different breeds we had over the years (talking about 2 decades) so was special to us in that way. Unfortunately he died in a bizarre fox attack.

I too hand feed Maggie’s. It’s been near 2 years and it started few months before Covid hit. ( I also got over my fear of birds from being traumatised by my cousins growing up at my grandparents farm- long story) Now, even though the Dad does the feeding/ swooping: Mumma Maggie I call him, brings his babies every time they hatch a batch. Such amazing creatures and they always have a beautiful song for me, whilst waiting at the door in the mornings. I didn’t see them for a while as the Crows nested on the gum tree over winter but they haven’t forgotten me, as soon as Spring hit… there they were. My beautiful birds🥰
