I was looking into Blame! by chance when one of its films (not the great movie, but some kinda weird experimental animation) was one of the recently uploaded on an anime site. Got super curious and tried the manga. Got bored after a few chapters. A while later this guy uploads this and after another try its been one of my top favourites since. I love this damn video

at first I thought it was a Pewdiepie video where he's gonna roast a manga for some weird nonsense or stuff, but then it turns out it's just Felix sincerely talking about something that he passionately likes. You should make more stuff like this aside from your pewdiepie stuff. You have a huge influence here, I bet the manga got so much recognition that it deserves for so long than it did before after making this video.

I think Blame is a metaphor for life itself. We are thrusted into this never ending structure, and through the mere Beauty of the structure a story is told. There is no instruction manual for life. No one narrates to us directly, there is very little dialogue. Our imagination fills in the empty space of life. We co-write this world together. We narrate ourselves, we each have our own perspectives and opinions on the same never ending structure. This life is an ever changing surrealistic piece of Art. Life is horrifyingly grim, but it's also marvelous. Blame speaks to the human condition. It is a mirror held to our inclusion in the universe. The frustration, the search for meaning, the vastness and the beauty.

Art is subjective, but if it doesn't make you *feel* something, it is probably not art. BLAME! most definitely succeed in telling the story it sets out to tell. It most definitely make people *feel*, whether it is simple rush of the action or the atmosphere the detailed drawings convey so well. If someone dismiss BLAME!, while holding up some splotches on a canvas as art, I legitimately think I'm dealing with an idiot. BLAME! should be recommended to everyone. It is that good.
@kurovisuals42723 жыл бұрын
Everyone should read BLAME it’s silence is golden and the feeling of silently walking through something that doesn’t exist is conveyed through gorgeous art the sounds of generators humming in the distance or the heavy weight of feet climbing a 10000 kilometer staircase Blames story is about the world more than the characters in the world although they are also extensions figuratively and literally I can’t see everyone liking it due to the wordless story that can confuse most readers but it’s something you should try because it’s not like any other story and it does it beautifully

This was amazing. It is so nice to see some originality here on youtube. So many people are all doing the same things and it think it is great to see that you really try to do something different. Something original. The content you have been putting out all of 2017 has been (in my opinion) the best content you have ever made. Keep doing your amazing work. Love from Norway

Amy Johnson how is it a difficult time for him? he is just doing all kinds of shit, trying all kinds of stuff. wouldn't call that shitty. is to a woman the most horrible thing imaginable being called racist by a mainstream news outlet? like being called whatever the current buzzword for social ostracism is? you know, there is such a thing as fighting the power, and being proud of yourself and your values even if the establishment is against it.

I want to thank you PewDiePie for introducing this manga to me. Ever since I've read it it is still to this day my all-time favorite manga and I honestly never would have discovered it if it weren't for this video. I honestly agree with everything you said in this video, about the art style and how the way the story is both directly and indirectly told through the environment and the events happening throughout the manga. The really cool part to me is that it almost doesn't feel like your reading a manga because of how alien the art style and character designs are compared to modern-day manga and I feel like that just adds to the uniqueness to the manga. To be honest, I personally don't enjoy reading manga that has a lot of "reveilling elements" in them, and I feel like it's getting more and more difficult to find new manga that doesn't have sexual or horny elements in them, so when I read this manga I felt as if it was the perfect manga for me (who is both a manga/anime fan and an absolute science fiction nerd) and I could still read it over and over again without it getting old and still finding new elements that I missed while reading the first time. So again, thank you for introducing this absolute gem of a manga to me.

This is one of the most beautifull videos I have ever watched. Very short and simple but so dense with emotion and love. The music that Felix picked for this is so wonderful and perfectly expresses the beauty and loneliness of the panels being shown, the journey of this lost man who is endlessly searching for something in this cold vast and empty world. Just as Felix said, it makes you use your imagination and the music acts as a sort of enrichment of the experience (as music always does if used correctly). It is also such an intimate video, because it feels like Felix hadn't prepared much upfront. I may be wrong but it feels like his need for expression sort of overwhelmed him and he had to go out and tell us about all of these feelings and thoughts that he has for something he truly and deeply loves. He takes it slow and, when he pauses, the music and the art speaks for him.The thumbnail and the tiltle are also simple and honest which is really nice to see, especially today. I love that even though he has great respect for the manga, he is still able to make jokes and even laugh about it. He knows that not everyone is going to feel the same emotions that he feels, and that not everyone is going to take it seriously, but he doesn't exclude these people. Lastly, just as Pewds thanked Tsutomu Nihei for creating BLAME! I also want to thank Pewds for creating this video, which is also, in my opinion, a wonderful piece of art.

Man it's crazy, I remember my 6th grade year (graduated in 2016 so 2010-2011 is probably when I found out about blame) finding this manga in my local library and buying the volumes and finishing the story and how heart broken I was when I finished the last book. I went on to drawing my own characters and taking art classes in highschool and just kept going with art all because of Blame. It's cheesy and shit but you know it's like what pewds said. "It's nice to revisit".

I promise that I'm not trying to offend anyone with what I'm about to say, but KZbin (and social networks in general) it's a platform where the "known youtuber" ends satisfacing the public in all sence regardless if the content is what he really wanted or not. Blame! reminds me alot of Dark Souls to be honest. You don't know how the world works and how anything functions and it makes you make your own assumptions and theories on what and how the world works as a whole. It's incredible in how they both encourage you to really focus on the surroundings, making you want to take every piece of dialogue you can get and really analyzing it and really seeing the hidden meaning in pretty much everything people say, or do. They both also got fucked somehow.
