I have the 1987 5speed GT. She sat in a garage from 1999 to 2019. Got it out restored it and been driving it every summer. I love my Fiero GT. Same coulour as yours.

The gas is 15 years old. The gas is no good after that check for Spark.

At 4:54 mice and small critters get in the rear trunk, door, and cabin. I mouse proofed my Fiero GT using 1/4 steel mesh. Alternator/Coil Cooling Fan (Passenger Side behind Rear Trunk Carpet) Remove Fan and place 1/4 inch mesh over opening. Cooling Tube to Alternator/Coil: Wrap outlets with 1/4 inch mesh and Hose Clamp in place. IAT Sensor Wires (on the Air Cleaner): Cover with Stainless Steel Braid, Zip Tie Ends closed. Doors: New Dew Wipes (tuck steel wool into gaps during winter storage): Fill gaps at bottom of Doors Frames to Door Body panels with 1/4 inch mesh and 5 minute epoxy. Do not block completely for water drainage. Wiper Tray: 1/4 inch mesh under the plastic screens over all openings. Front Trunk Latch: 1/4 inch mesh around latch area. Wiper Tray Drains (lead down from Wiper Tray to under car): 1/4 mesh over openings. This is the way mice work their way into the cabin, up these drains, into the Wiper Tray, then into the vent system, and into the cabin. You MUST remove the Cabin Ventilation Fan and remove any nesting inside that area... the Fan speed resistors are open wire resistors that will start a fire if you run the Cabin Fan and nests are present. Winter Storage: Plug all 4 exhaust ports with Stainless Steel scrubing pads (Dollar Tree), fold two pads to make a bigger one (sort of like rolling two socks together).

it needs new tires - new brakes - new shocks ($1,000 per wheel) .... the engine needs rebuilding (another $5,000) ... the transmission needs rebuilding (another $2,000)... new paint (another $1,000) ... redo the interior with a stereo upgrade (another $1,000) ....anything is cheaper than a new car

It has fusible links but the fuse box is folded up under the driver's side dash. Two tabs and it comes down.

Under my 88 formula today here in sunny NH....redone brake cals,new radiator, trans cool lines, etc. She sat u red a tarp in the dry for 10 yrs , new battery and has she started right away! It's a street legal death cart, I also "just wanna drive it" and take it from there....Wish each other luck!

@@CountersteerGarage I predicted Fuel filter, it sucks when you have mice nesting in the car, they might have eaten threw some wires, vacuum hose, I just had one eat at my gas line fill up. Could be the coil? So I believe your going to need to give that car a complete tune up and also probably put in New vacuum hoses, who knows they might have eaten threw a fuel line? Good luck with that project, I had a 84 Pontiac Fiero, standard with the iron duke motor, it got excellent gas mileage.
