My Final BlackMagic Design Ursa Mini vs Samsung Nx1 Comparison

I do another side-by-side comparison of the two cameras. Now I am 100% cretin the Samsung Nx1 is sharper. That does not mean it is a better camera than the Ursa Mini though.

The Nx1 does a 6.5k (28mp) full sensor readout, and supersamples it down to 4k. That's why it is way sharper than the 8mp 4k sensor of the Ursa Mini. As far as 4k sharpness goes, the NX1 out resolves any camera that is out there, even the a6500 which does a 6k sensor read-out.

What is your opinion about a NX1 on a GH5 and a Fuji XT2? Is it worth replacing the NX1 with any of these other cameras? Or is it worth keeping the NX1 and working with XT2 together?

I do not know much about the Fuji but I'd bet its not as good as the other two. The NX1 is an incredible camera, I especially like the h.265 for keeping file sizes small. It's super sharp too, which some like and others don't. If you value shooting on a flat profile to get the most out of color grading, go with the GH5. NX1 color since could be better. If you use an external monitor, the Fuji's 8-bit 4:2:2 color sounds impressive, but I'd just use the money for an external monitor and the Fuji to buy the GH5.

An external monitor with the NX1, recording in 12 bits is it possible? Like an Atomos. Can the quality be superior?

Not possible. I had the Atomos with the NX1, it didn't improve the video quality to any noticeable degree.

I promise it will be the last question. lol. Why did you comment that, not necessarily the image quality of the NX1 is superior to BlackMagic Ursa? In what way can the Ursa be superior? Dynamic Range?
